Another interesting WWE.com article of (legit?) backstage brawls. (wwe.com) Most are famous, but couple of these, like Jacques Rougeau and Dynamite Kid, I'd never heard of. Also, Batista is the cover photo of the article and I assumed his piece would be about John Morrison, then I remembered Morrison never had the guts to actually physically confront Batista over Melina.

I can't quite remember what the issue was - did it have anything to do with the sexual-harrassment-lawsuit storyline that Batista and Melina had for a couple of weeks? And in any case, looking at the size disparity between Morrison and Batista, I'd say he made the correct decision in not physically confronting Dave.
I believe - and this could be just salacious rumor mongering that has gone on for many years - that Batista and Melina had a sexual relationship going on while Melina was still dating Morrison, who was aware of it and did nothing about it. There may have been more to it. I don't know the whole story. Batista did write about Melina briefly in his book "Batista Unleashed".

Who's to say it was even a point of contention? Not all relationships are strictly sexually monogamous, and if nothing happened it could just be because nothing needed to happen.
I've always really liked the Jericho/Goldberg story.
And wasn't the Cena/Rock thing 100% an angle? I never put any stock in that stuff being legit.

I get that Bischoff wanted to make WCW "younger" (wink, wink) at the time, but I'll never understand how he didnt see that reaction and think "Gee, maybe I should do something with this guy for awhile THEN bury him".

I get that Bischoff wanted to make WCW "younger" (wink, wink) at the time, but I'll never understand how he didnt see that reaction and think "Gee, maybe I should do something with this guy for awhile THEN bury him".
Because the Flair ust sued him and he had to go out there and eat crow. Now, should have Eric gone out there? No, but Eric's ego was out of control. That crowd would have burned, hanged and flayed alive Eric if given the chance.

We wanted Flair to do that. But it was the right move to hold off on that. The moment was big enough with Flair standing with the Horsemen.

I'm surprised WWE even makes mention of XPW, honestly. I was there that night and even heard "White Trash" Johnny Webb tell members of the XPW street team to make sure not to get involved with whatever happens.
Amusingly, most of the ECW guys who brawled with the XPW guys worked with XPW later.

It can't be stated enough how teflon Flair was in WCW. No matter how badly Bischoff wanted to get rid of him, no matter how much Vince Russo went out of his way to humiliate him, the fans would just stick to Flair more and more. The only other guy in the organization the fans had that kind of loyalty to was Sting. It still staggers me that Flair and Bischoff wound up working together later in ANY capacity, especially recently in TNA. Wrestling is weird, man.
I love spectacular high flying matches..... but i dont want to see another post injury rey rey. Let him tone the big spots down some.... he energy in the ring will still carry the match.
