After nearly six months of anticipation, I was pretty happy with the episode last night. Lex channeling Zod was fantastic, especially when he put the knife right through Lana's hand.
Also good was the "Kneel before Zod" line-the scene looked exactly like that from Superman II, and the special effects folks did a great job in having Zod's spirit look just like Terence Stamp's Zod (also from Superman II) while it was leaving Lex's body.
A cool introduction to Jimmy ("James")Olson, although that could have been thrown into the next episode.
Originally posted by cranlsnJimmy Olson was a little disconcerting as the actor's twin brother, Shawn Ashmore, has appeared in Smallville twice as a villain. It'll take me a little time to get past that.
I was thinking that as well. They should have acknowledged it:
"Hey, didn't you try to kill me and leech my powers three or four years ago?"
"Nope, must have been someone who looked like me."
Smokin’ Aces Illusion, Identity and Betrayal It is appropriate that the title character of Smokin’ Aces, Buddy “Aces” Israel, is an illusionist, because Smokin’ Aces to a large extent is built on an illusion.
