Avengers A.I. #1 Superior Foes of Spider-Man #1 Those are my Marvel purchases I haven't read yet.
But the real main event is:
Batman '66 #1. Holy Lazarus! It's a perfect recreation of Adam West's show. The writing is spot on, right down to Batman's name calling at the Riddler. Plus, since it's comics, there's more breakneck action that could never have been depicted on the TV show. Jeff Parker really captures the characters to the point where you can hear the actors' voices in your head. I'm so happy Adam West's Batman is back. This Batman is the hero we need.
Plus Batman '66 plays like Marvel's Infinite Comics where it's more animated. For a dollar, it's the best DC purchase you can make this week.
Well, if you're looking for alternate history fantasy, you might want to take a look at Naomi Novik's Temeraire books, which are set in an alternate-world version of the Napoleonic era, with dragons and such added.
