Who sings the "I'm in Love" song on the Monster.com ad?

3. "iTunes"-Pepsi. Because I've already won two free songs.

I'm curious about how this works. If you've tried it, do you have a pretty wide selection of songs, or is it just "pick 1 out of X number of songs, most of which are crappy".

1 - "Tomorrow". As soon as it came on, one of the people at the party started singing "Groovin, on a Sunday afternoon..." ala the Tostitos commercial; when Jerry Jones started singing, we roared.

2 - Clydesdale, but I was sort of disappointed that the donkey wasn't wearing his leg hair extensions at the end.

3 - The dog that fetches the Bud. Seriously, I hope we train our dog to do that.

I also really liked the Ford GT commercial only because it did what it was supposed to do; I want that car, but in blue. We got a kick out of the irony in Ditka commercial that ragged on baseball ("We play in any weather", then shows an ump holding out his hand as a single raindrop hits it), only because, at the start of the fourth quarter, the announcers mentioned that the roof of Reliant Stadium was closed due to the chance of thunderstorms passing through.

There were a ton of car commercials this year, and after halftime, we started getting repeats of local dealership spots. Did anyone else have a lot of local commercials in the second half?

We're not sure if you mean the remake of Donna Summer's "I Feel Love," but if you do, it's by the Blue Man Group FEATURING Venus Hum. I don't remember which songs were in the other ads. (ad? ads? Whichwise)

It reminded me a lot of "A place called love" by Fleming & John, but that's probably just coincidence.

And yes, CBS aired at least four local car commercials after the halftime show.

My favorite three are probably the Alien/Fed-Ex, Bud's farting horse, and the 7up Slam Dunk.

I guess I'm the only one who thought the mule Clydesdale was stupid. I was hoping the real horses were about to start laughing hysterically at him and kick him the hell out of the barn. "You can't even procreate, loser. Go shill PBR or some other piss beer."

Fave 3 (in no particular order):

-Homer Simpson "Priceless" (nice touch with the doughnuts morphing into the Mastercard logo)

-Farting horse

-"Holy shit" Chevy ad.

Honorable mentions go to FedEx for the Alien and AOL for the American Chopper spots.

I haven't had time to try and redeem it yet, but everything I've read says that you have access to any song in the iTMS. The Rules say that you are limited to 10 songs per day, and 200 total, which is pretty interesting.

BTW, the Green Day cover of "I Fought the Law" used in the commercial is now available...

Yeah, I've seen it before, but it was during the Super Bowl, so I counted it. I don't know how official any of these lists are, anyway :)

Thanks a zillion.

Incidentally, have you taken to using the royal "we" when you talk, or is there a mog in your pocket?

I talked it over with my wife, of course!

She actually ID'd it on the spot last night ("it's that remake you got last year!") but I had to actually dig it up (from one of a series of compilation CDs) to find the artist after you reminded me by asking here.

You wanted the best, you got... Out of Context Quote of the Week.

"Orton's facials were perfect, I must say." (Ringmistress)
:
* Bud Light's fetching competition. And the bikini wax, too.
* Subway. Even if they took an unfair shot at Wang Chung.
* NFL Network. Giants are gonna find a way to be 0-3 going INTO minicamps, of course.
* Mastercard. Specifically, the Simpsons one.
* Truth. Just the Shards O'Glass one, though. That was pretty good. Don't remember their other one.

:
* No Terry Tate ads on TV? What the shit is this?
* Didn't see the horse letting one fly during the game, but I saw the payoff, and it was goo-wait, no, it wasn't.
* I think I was happier when I didn't know what Cialis did. Even if the ads were the most painfully generic, useless ones EVER. (For the record, it doesn't make you a sex superman for 36 hours. Just lets you get there on your own. I hope. They say to talk to a doctor if you're in the read for four hours, though. And how many Degrassi: TNG allusions can I make in one parenthetical bit?)
* Pepsi. Weeeeeak.

I just saw one that *wasn't* on the SuperBowl but *should* have been.

Same series of new Pepsi commercials. Guy just finishes making a sandwich when doorbell/phone rings. To the tune of "Secret Agent Man", big ol' Golden Retriever dog snarfs the sandwich off the counter; chomping noises off camera. He snarfs the Pepsi can off the counter; pop top & schlurping noises off camera. He puts the empty Pepsi can back on the counter. He then deftly places a very confused cat on top of the now-empty plate.

That would have made my list!

"Technically", the 7-Up SlamDunk wasn't a debut either. (Just sayin'.)

It was none other than an old KMEL mainstay Biz Markie singing - "Just a Friend" - in the Pepsi ad with the waitress.

Too bad that commercial is at least a month old, Emma. I'd never seen the slam dunk one before, but I'll replace it with the Bud 'Ref Practice' commercial. As soon as they said, 'I wonder where he learned to tune that out' my girlfriend said, "That's easy, his wife." I was amused.

I'd bet on the Cubs to win back to back World Series titles before I bet on the Jags to win the Super Bowl. They are just a terrible team in the clutch, year in and year out.
