I'm real happy with the booking coming out of the show. Jericho with a world title and Sheamus without one. Triple H is out early in the Royal Rumble AND not in the Wrestlemania title picture? I don't know what world I'm living in.

The show itself was just okay. The Chambers had some cool stuff but neither came close to last year's two ECs. These two were good, but the second one had no heat and didn't live up to the potential of the guys in the match. But it was great down the stretch with Morrison of all people getting to shine in the final three instead of being there as the angle's fall guy. And evidently whatever they were going to do with his ankle, they changed their minds.

The amazing thing about the SD finish is that it is clear that Hornswoggle taught HBK how to live under the ring.

The Batista thing was pretty cheap. A 100% xerox of Edge stealing the belt from Cena after the Elimination Chamber with a dramatic announcement by Vince. But everything from the buildup made sense. I think Cena/Batista has a lot more oomph as a Wrestlemania-worthy title match than Triple H vs. Sheamus would've.

The middle hour of the show was a nebulous void. One last long quality Christian match would've come in handy there.

John Cena won Elimination Chamber after
- Ted DiBiase chose to pin Randy Orton with both Cena and Orton unconscious on the ground, after Orton had saved Ted from the STFU
- Kofi pinned DiBiase with TIP
- Sheamus pinned Kofi with the Razor's Edge
- Triple H pinned Sheamus by kick-pedigreeing him when he had Cena up for the Edge
- Cena made HHH tap to the STFU with Hunter spent from taking the Randy rope-hang DDT on the steel earlier.

After the match, Vince came out and gave Batista an immediate title shot against Cena. Spear powerbomb pin. Second three-minute title reign in less than a year.

Drew Mc beat Kane in a long boring match.

Gail revealed to Maryse that she knows French and Maryse learned a valuable life lesson about talking behind people's backs.

Vickie changed the tournament final to Gail & Maryse vs. LayCool, who won when Maryse turned on Gail.

Miz beat MVP in a U.S. title match courtesy Big Show.

Chris Jericho won the Elimination Chamber after
- Punk pinned Truth with the GTS, then cut another promo until the next guy came out.
- Rey pinned Punk after a top rope rana into the steel.
- Morrison pinned Rey after starship pain.
- Undertaker pinned Morrison after a chokeslam onto the steel.
- Jericho pinned Undertaker after Michaels came out from under a grate and superkicked him.

Hey, both matches follow the same pattern of A loses to B loses to C loses to D lose to E.

I think the Raw match was the first Chamber where all six guys got in before anyone got eliminated.

Everything between Batista squashing Cena for his newly won WWE Title (where does Cena rank now in Shortest Title Reigns Ever?) and Undertaker's overcoat catching on fire during his entrance was pretty worthless.

High points for me were:

*Jericho hiding in the pod. Hilarious. Then Undertaker deciding to use John Morrison as the battering ram to bust the pod open. I also marked out every time Jericho managed to not get locked into Hell's Gate.

*Punk was singularly amazing. His promos during his entrance and after eliminating R-Truth were great. They've got a good gimmick going with Punk and they know it.

*Best Sign of the night: SHAVE ME SERENA

I didn't think the RAW Chamber was very good until DiBiase eliminated Orton, which began the cascade of eventful booking.

I liked the Smackdown chamber a lot but HBK's appearance turned out to feel a little underwhelming. Everyone was waiting for him to attack R-Truth and it didn't happen. As the minutes were ticking down to the end of the show, everyone was waiting for HBK to appear. (Frankly, if HBK was going to take someone's place in the Chamber, I thought it would have been funny if he attacked Morrison during his slow motion pose. To see HBK coming up from behind Morrison in slow motion would have been great.)

Switching the Divas Title match to an interbrand tag will never make sense to me even if Vince McMahon himself sat me down to explain the logic. Crowd was killed by Drew and Kane and buried by LayCool's surprise appearance. Even with the way Maryse betrayed her, unsurprisingly, and she took both the Faithbreaker and the French TKO, Gail Kim still won't get any sympathy support. People are just apathetic.

Still, Three World Title changes makes the show a little too special to dwell on the terrible middle hour.

Edge vs. Jericho seems to be a lock now, and the WWE Title picture just got interesting with Batista holding the strap. Whether or not he'll hold onto it into WrestleMania is the question.

So, People Who Actually Watched The Show, was the Miz/Daniel Bryan stuff as emphasized as Dave made it sound over on the Observer? I sense, from none of you mentioning it, that it really was nothing worth mentioning.

I love the way they used Morrison's ankle injury as a glorified red herring. I kept waiting for Michaels to horn his way into the match and it never happened. Of course, then it turned into a question of when Michaels would interject himself. Brilliantly done. I almost wondered why Michaels would cost UT the match when he could have found a way to attack later and get a shot at the streak AND the title, but logic would have dictated that Edge swoop in and take that shot from him. Overall, all the booking made perfect sense and I loved it.

The Raw chamber is where the question marks came in. First off, I loved DiBiase having to make the fateful choice as to who to pin between a knocked-out Orton and a knocked-out Cena. The fateful decision to pin Orton is a great way to build up to the DiBiase/Orton WM match and now they've got Cody as the odd man out, with the question being whether he sides with DiBiase, Orton, or neither. But then came the fascinating stuff.

Sheamus wiping out Kofi and then getting Pedigreed and pinned makes me wonder where they'll go. Will they go with a Kofi/Sheamus match or the Triple H/Sheamus match? More logically, are they going to conveniently forget that Sheamus has a rematch clause in favor of going full steam ahead on a Batista/Cena title match?

This company's big money match for years has always been Cena/Batista. In a sense, it makes sense that it'd be for the title, but it's something none of us really thought about with the Bret subplot hanging overhead. But I'm really surprised that they'd take the Sheamus experiment this far, only to seemingly end it right before the big show. I mean, at this point, why not ride it out all the way? Might as well.

I thought this company was getting better at not hot shotting their big belts. But tonight, we get Cena doing the Yokuzuna title reign and we get Jericho winning a title that he'll probably hold for a month. It's somewhat disappointing.

It was more than mentioned. Miz cut a backstage interview about the "controversy" surroundhing him and Bryan, including calling him the king of the indies for the past 10 years.

NXT was played up by that and by William Regal cutting an in ring promo about NXT before getting speared by Edge for no reason. Daniel Bryan was the only NXT rookie mentioned by name.

Title change information:

WWE Championship

John Cena regained the title from Sheamus after Sheamus held it for 70 days. It was Cena's sixth reign as WWE Champion; he is now tied for third place in terms of number of reigns. (Triple H has 8, The Rock had 7, and Steve Austin and Hulk Hogan also had 6). Cena is now an eight-time world champion; he also won the World Heavyweight Title twice. It was the first WWE Title change of 2010.

Batista defeated Cena for the title after Cena held it for only a few minutes. It is Batista's second reign with the WWE Championship. His first reign lasted only two days; he defeated Randy Orton at Extreme Rules on 6/7/09 but was forced to vacate the title only two days later due to injury. Batista is now a six-time world champion; he has also held the World Heavyweight Title four times.

World Heavyweight Championship

Chris Jericho defeated The Undertaker for the title after Undertaker held the title for 140 days, which was by far the longest he'd held that particular championship. It is Jericho's third reign as World Heavyweight Champion; he is tied for third overall in number of reigns. (Triple H and Edge have 5, Batista has 4, and Edge and CM Punk also have 3). It's the first time Jericho has held this title since losing it to John Cena on 11/23/08. Jericho is now a six-time world champion; he held the WCW World Championship (Invasion edition) twice, and the WWF Championship once. (And of course, he held the WWF and WCW Championships concurrently as Undisputed Champion).

It is, of course, the first World Heavyweight Title change of 2010.

Total world titles though, doesn't Cena have about eight now? Last year really killed all the title counts. Everyone's going to pass Flair in 2012.

I just wanted to tell CaptainCuba that picking Cena was good, but you didn't pick Batista to walk out champ. No one did. Just like Edge last year. This tends to happen in Chamber matches now.

I'll watch this show soon.

I've just started to regard wrestling world titles as major championships in golf, rather than as singular achievements. Though I still don't know why the wrestling world settled on sixteen as Flair's number of title reigns, given that he arguably had six or seven more.

Wow, they almost set the Dead Man on fire!!! I'm really glad, he seems to be ok! Imagine what could have happened!

As far as the PPV is concerned: I really enjoyed WWE last year, but this PPV kind of sucked, except the Miz of course and the last few minutes of the show!

I'm glad Sheamus lost and Triple H won't wrestle for any world titles now (still can't believe it)!

I now really hope Jericho and Edge won't dissapoint at Mania, because Jericho needs to deliver on the biggest stage of all, after what happened at WM X8 (not his fault alone)!

I'm also curios about the WWE title match: Bret and Cena vs. Vince and Batista FOR THE TITLE? Don't even wanna start to think about the possiblities!!!

Yes, I'm back! I know, I said I would never ever watch that crap again, but ... I just can't live without it, I guess.

With the exception of the Smackdown chamber this PPV was sooooooo boring. Triple H's tanned fat and Dibiase's black hole of charisma made for the most boring Elimination Chamber I think I've ever seen, plus they treated the cage like it was lava. Any spots involving the cage were few and far between.

It was nice to see Layla at least. I don't think the mean girl angle is gonna work so well for Gail Kim as it did for Mickie. In fact I don't think Gail has long in the company. No one in the audience seems to care when she comes out. Once again Vickie gets the best reaction of the night.

Drew McIntyre vs. Kane.......treat it like the Holocaust, NEVER AGAIN.

MVP vs. Miz just seems better in promos and segments than in the actual match itself. This match was slightly better than RR though.

Smackdown chamber ruled thankfully. R-Truth kicked out early, Punk got a mic, nice spots from Rey and Punk, Rey vs. Punk at Wrestlemania continues to be set, and Jericho is champion. Best two parts of the night was Punk's big mouth and Jericho attempting to lock himself back into the pod. I love how even though Jericho is stoic and serious now he still throws in bits of comedy in his matches and some backstage segments. It's slight but I've just started noticing it a few days ago and last night was no exception.

The Torch recap I read said that Punk essentially paraphrased Rorschach, "I'm not locked in here with you, you're locked in here with ME!" Which is AWESOME.

I figured after last night, we would have a clearer picture for Mania and we kinda do. I would assume Edge will announce he will face Jericho for the title at Mania and then we have Cena/Batista, the last real dream match for Mania. HBK/Taker will be good and I am not sure if HHH is going to be out of the big picture just yet. This is Hunter we are talking about, I can see him worm his way into Jericho/Edge or HBK/Taker. If not then I could see him verses Sheamus or maybe a cross brand match with Kane if they do DX vs. Brothers of Destruction on a Raw or Smackdown. Miz/MVP is going along well. I do think they will wait forever to do the Divas title match at Mania even though the tournament will be over month old if they don't do it tonight. Plus, how the hell did Vickie get the power to change Raw matches? I do hope they throw Money in the Bank or at least a ladder match for the tag titles. So far, this Wrestlemania looks stacked on paper, but we will wait to see if they execute it right.

I can't speak for seeing the chamber since I was doing what any patriotic North American should have been doing, watching US vs. Canada Hockey. Yeah, that includes you too Mexico maybe you can learn how to play a sport. USA! USA! USA!

We had seats facing the ramp, from behind the announcers and it LOOKED like he caught fire, but when he made his way to the ring, I thought it was just flames behind him. Pretty scary!

And, Vickie didn't get the biggest heel heat, it was Sheamus. Like I said in the other thread, it was nuclear heat.
Vickie and Punk were close to even for the second best heel heat.

Live, the matches came to a screaming halt when Drew v Kane came out, with a LOT of people heading to the bathroom or the merch tables.

Morrison was the surprise of the night. He made everybody look great, had some great spots, and ate the choke slam on the steel.

The crowd basically shit all over the Batista segment, but at least we'll have a pretty good story going into mania.

Yeah but it's not like we're not seeing numerous World title changing hands at many of the ppvs the last two years. The way things are going Melina will be back before Gail Kim and Maryse have a match for the vacant title. Miz and Mvp aren't being done any favors with unadvertised(before the ppv) matches the past two ppvs. How do you get a US Title match after beating the tag champs in a title match? Shouldn't we have gotten a tag title match instead?
