Nevermind that many of your subjects lived through the Germans' Blitz of 1940, and lost many more of their countrymen...
Man, them royals is stupid. (The bottom of the article says Prince William was there, too...dressed as a lion. Am I the only one picturing the "it's a lion!" graphic from Strong Sad and The Cheat's "Experimental Film?" (Homestar Runner)

You have to wonder who handles these people to let this happen

Still is (google.co.uk), just that they sometimes sport more respectable hair cuts these days.
Many of the leading papers over here are fairly right wing, including The Sun in spite of its switch in allegiance to New Labour (actually some would argue 'in spite of' isn't the right phrase, but I digress).
They've currently got a real bee in their bonnet about immigration, and seem to have large numbers of people convinced that traking in asylum seekers is the root of all our countries problems. The BNP have toned down the rhetoric a little (in public anyway) and played on this perception to win votes, particularly in areas where there are large Asian communities.
On a more amusing note (ananova.com) about the BNP.

Rupert Murdoch tried to score some kind of a favour from Labour a few years back and was rebuked, so he ended up switching The Sun's political allegiances just to piss 'em off.
As for Harry....MOOOOOOOOOOOOORON. Putting aside the fact that only a total tool would think "Hey! Nazi uniform! What a GREAT costume!", this is like the worst timing in the history of the world ever. The 60th anniversary of Auschwitz closing in three weeks? Nah, that's not sensitive issue at all...
Once upon a time in China, some believe, around the year one double-ought three, head priest of the White Lotus Clan, Pai Mei was walking down the road, contemplating whatever it is that a man of Pai Mei's infinite power contemplates - which is another way of saying "who knows" - when a Shaolin monk appeared, traveling in the opposite direction. As the monk and the priest crossed paths, Pai Mei, in a practically unfathomable display of generosity, gave the monk the slightest of nods. The nod was not returned. Now was it the intention of the Shaolin monk to insult Pai Mei or did he just fail to see the generous social gesture? The motives of the monk remain unknown. What is known, are the consequences. The next morning Pai Mei appeared at the Shaolin Temple and demanded of the Temple's head abbot that he offer Pai Mei his neck to repay the insult. The Abbot at first tried to console Pai Mei, only to find Pai Mei was inconsolable. So began the massacre of the Shaolin Temple and all 60 of the monks inside at the fists of the White Lotus. And so began the legend of Pai Mei's five point palm exploding heart technique. | dMr

Aren't they still supporting Labour? I've not read it in a fair while right enough.
The switch away from the Tories was just borne of the ground swell of opinion turning against the Conservatives in the mid to late 90's no? A New Labour supporting paper was going to sell more papers.
Prince Harry is of course a buffoon regardless, but its hardly surprising given the family from whence he came.

They were particularly strong in their condemnation of the fox-hunting bill, which is a very conservative stance. And they've been featuring li'l Howard-boosting tidbits more and more over the past few months.

"I think Mr. Blackwell is missing the point as to why that outfit was so bad. There are two fundemental rules of fashion, don't wear white shoes before labor day... AND DON'T DRESS LIKE A NAZI!!"
Bowie drew flack for this too, but it's worse when a potential leader for a country that FOUGHT the Nazis wears this get up.
