Agreed. I was all against the trade for the Yankees mostly because I dislike the Yankees. This is much worse. Texas already leads the AL West, and mostly because of their hitting. Now they add a number one guy to the rotation and this Angels fan is very sad.

Still, it is the Rangers, so they just might find a way to bungle this up.

It's funny reading how everyone is getting worked up over Lee going then not going to the Yanks. You guys realize that he's going to sign with them at the end of the season anyway? The trade to the Rangers only delays the inevitable: he'll be teammates with his buddy CC before too long. This just only prevented the Yanks from using prospects that they'll use on another trade that will piss us off within the next 2 weeks.

The last time I remember a baseball team being run with MLB's money (although this time it was a loan) made a trade like this?

Expos Received: Bartolo Colon

Indians Received: Brandon Phillips, Grady Sizemore, and Cliff Lee.

Haren still on the market? I have no idea why the Cards gave up on him to begin with. Either way, the Yanks are at least hot right now, season long winning streak (Unless they lost today while I was out). Their pitching has been solid as long as they can avoid injuries, they should be solid in post season.

I was more against this trade because I like the Yankees rotation as it is, and didn't want to see Hughes go to the bullpen. Lee going to Texas instead of Tampa combined with having to instead face Dave Polley were inherent bonuses. Word of the Yankees being pissed off because Seattle agreed to the trade including Montero and Adams and then backed out because Texas offered something better is laughable, given a similar scenario involving Steinbrenner signing David Wells back in 2001/2 after Boomer had already made an oral agreement to sign with Arizona.

Now, if New York could have somehow included AJ Burnett in the deal to Seattle...

AFter that first inning, I was sure we'd get a barn burner of a game. Then, David Wells showed why I wished the Yanks would have given him a call this offseason. Shut them down totally.
