I just started using the beta version of the new Yahoo! Mail & it is awesome (so far)!!
Basically the interface is much more like Outlook (& other mail programs) & utilizes a lot of the same keyboard shortcuts that were not really available on the prior version of Yahoo! Mail.
Among the nice features I've noticed so far:
All Inbox messages are available in one page view by simply scrolling, as opposed to the past method of having to click "next" to get to an older message.
The "delete" button on your keyboard will delete the email you have highlighted (no more clicking to delete an email)
The ability to arrow up/down to read through emails & view the highlighted email in a reviewing pane on the same screen.
So far so good on the changes. I'm curious to see what else they snuck in to the upgrade...
EDIT: I just noticed they added the ability to drag-drop emails from folder to folder, & emails show in the Inbox automatically without manually "checking". Keeps getting better & better!! :-)

Like Zeruel said, I was just logging into my email on Friday & they asked me if I wanted to try the beta version. I must've signed-up for something a while back, but I don't remember...

I agree that it looks like Outlook, but something about it doesn't bother me as much as Outlook does (which I unfortunately have to use for work). It's definitely much faster than Outlook!
I've decided against running Windows on the Macbook. If for any other reason, my Windows laptop is still in decent shape. I was able to get Word for Mac: let's see how well that works.
