In a move that nobody seemed to expect, Microsoft is cutting prices on all X360 models, effective tomorrow (8/8/07).
Core: down $20 to $280
Premium: down $50 to $350
Elite: down $50 to $450
X360 is now your cheapest option (by $50) for HDMI out-of-the-box. And once the 60GB PS3’s disappear, it becomes a better option by $100 more.

Also looming large for Sony (and MS) is that Nintendo is currently making a profit on each Wii sold. As soon as they feel that their price advantage is sliding, they are well equipped for a price cut themselves.

So take your receipt in and tell them you want the discount. If they balk, bring in the system and "return" it then buy it again for the new price. Usually stores like Wal Mart will just give you the difference. | Alex
