Don't know where this came from, I'd never heard of it till tonight when I couldn't sleep and 'found' it online.
There's four episodes so far so it's easy to catch up on. It takes place one year after the Dark Phoenix Saga and features a group comprised of Cyclops, Wolverine, Beast, and Storm. They've all been apart, mourning Jean's death. Professor Xavier calls them all back to help find a young mutant who has been abducted in Korea. The kid turns out to be Armor from the current series and Emma Frost is also there.
The animation is 'anime' like, which might be a turn off to some people, but the characters are drawn very distinctly and even have distinct faces which most anime doesn't bother doing. A small gripe is that they're all wearing the movie outfits that were introduced when Grant Morrison was writing the series.
Funny thing about Grant Morrison; the show is using things he wrote, such as Emma's secondary mutation and the looks of the characters is very Frank Quietly era X-Men... but Warren Ellis is being credited as the only writer of the show. Morrison gets no respect.
The closing credits of the show is very comic book friendly, promising Juggernaut, Strife, Mystique, Wolverine in his X-Force costume, and Magneto showing up in later episodes.
The guy who discovered Steven Spielberg, created the summer blockbuster, and produced Driving Ms Daisy has passed away from a heart attack, Yahoo is reporting. Where would cinema be without the summer blockbuster?
