Coldest it's been here in 20 years, they're saying.

I'm hoping my boss says I can telecommute tomorrow. I don't want to go down the hill to the freeway. At the bottom of the hill is hwy 101, its a T intersection... so if I lose traction, I'm on the Freeway.
Ugh. I'm gonna try to take the back road tomorrow instead.

We don't have a freeway. We have a 2 lane Highway. As of right now, the pex does not appear to have frozen (at least I'm still getting hot and cold water at the two questionable locations) We've shut off the entire upstairs, trying to keep out of the laundry room as much as possible (I do not believe there is ANY insulation in there at all - and is completely open to the elements underneath the floor. Someone just stuck some cinder blocks up to look like it is closed in underneath, it doesn't actually connect to the addition.) It shouldn't be too bad since I'm home today to feed the fire, and keep things running. I dread tomorrow when the fire will be out when I get home. I wish we had a heating system.
