Then again, this would be the perfect time for me to get that checkered 1972 Vespa I've always dreamed of owning...
...no I am NOT kidding.

As an additional FYI, GM exports more cars out of Germany than BMW. So, buying 'American' is a little more complicated than simply buying cars produced by an 'American' company. Additionally, GM owns Saab and Opel; Ford owns Jaguar and Lotus; Mercedes owns Dodge (among other examples) So, how do you define an 'American' car?

| #23 Posted on 8.4.03 1530.09 | Since Corajudo already brought up the point I was going to make about where cars are produced I'll skip it. However I have owned a '96 Pontiac Sunfire since well '96, and it has run perfectly until the last 6 months, and thats with over 150K on it with many of those miles City trafic. That said Im looking for a truck and I'll most likely buy Nissan do to resale and my family having great luckwith their products. As for Harleys I have opperated my fathers for 4 years now, and I think most Harley owners know that they are going to spend more time maintaing it. I actually enjoy it. The exception being the guys who buy the bik eto prove that they are young and hip. as so many new Harley owners seem to be, or maybe thats my bias against people who don't even know where their spark plugs are.

Someday soon, when I can afford it, I'm finally buying my Harley. I'm thinking Dyna Glide or Heritage Softail. (Kind of an upgrade from my '83 Kawasaki LTD 550.)
brick: How new is your dad's old Harley that you've ridden for 4 years? I thought the newer models needed much less maintenance than the AMF-years P.O.S's. Hell, you've been able to get fuel injection instead of carbeurators for awhile now, right?
The Motor Company is about as American as you can get...although they do use Yaesu batteries, I believe. I just want a ride with a Wisconsin powerplant. Yeah.

| #26 Posted on 9.4.03 0822.50 | Dad hog is a '94 sportster, he changed jobs and has to travle alot so he doesn't have the time when home, so in return for performing the upkeep, I get to ride. (I own a 81 yamaha 3cylinder) So while the Hog needs more constant attention, or maybe do to the fact its such a great ride I put more effort in, the yamaha is a pain in the ass when work does need to be done. but who am I to complain Im getting to ride without paying.
