I was reading all about the proposed returns of Hogan & company and it struck me how much this could suck. The whole heirarchy of the WWF roster could be destroyed!

GOOD WORKERS/POPULAR
Triple H, Chris Jericho, Stone Cold, The Rock, Ric Flair, Edge, Rob Van Dam, Mr. Perfect, Val Venis, Booker T, D.D.P., Rhyno, Chris Benoit, Kanyon, D-Lo Brown, Tazz, Kurt Angle, the Hardy Boyz,

BIG MONEY/GIMMICK GUYS
Undertaker, Big Show, Kane, Rikishi, Mark Henry, Maven, Goldust, the Godfather

GOOD WORKERS/UNPOPULAR
Lance Storm, The Hurricane, Raven, Kidman, Chavo Guerrero,
Spike Dudley, the Dudley Boyz, Christian, Saturn, X-Pac, William Regal, Test, Mike Awesome, Justin Credible, Jerry Lynn

THE PRETZELS (Filler)
Albert, Scotty 2 Hotty, the APA, Chuck & Billy, the Bossman, Tommy Dreamer, the jobbers...

On an average RAW, there's:
Opening Tag Team Match
Obligatory IC Title Defense
Crappy Women's Segment
Comedy Segment (usually Austin or Angle)
McMahon Hijinks (usually Vince scheming)
Opening 20-minute Interview
Mid-Way 20-minute Interview
2 or 3 mid-card matches
First Match of the 2nd Hour (usually with Popular Good Workers)
Main Event (usually with Popular Good Workers)

But with Hogan, Nash & Hall fitting into the Big Money/Gimmick Category, the balance will be destroyed! EVIL!
(Maybe I just hate Hogan & the Outsiders 'cause they fricked up WCW just when it started to get good...)

I would hardly call D-Lo Brown "popular". He may have a small following on the internet, but most fans would probably have to think twice to even remeber who he is. It's also a little early to call Venis or Perfect popular.

BIG MONEY/GIMMICK GUYS
Undertaker, Big Show, Kane, Rikishi, Mark Henry, Maven, Goldust, the Godfather

Big Show, Rikishi, Mark Henry and Maven are neither big money or gimmick wrestlers right now.

GOOD WORKERS/UNPOPULAR
Lance Storm, The Hurricane, Raven, Kidman, Chavo Guerrero,
Spike Dudley, the Dudley Boyz, Christian, Saturn, X-Pac, William Regal, Test, Mike Awesome, Justin Credible, Jerry Lynn

Again, I don't know why you would say the Dudleys and Hurricane are unpopular. They may not be the ones putting asses in the seats, but live crowds seem to enjoy their parts on the show.

THE PRETZELS (Filler)
Albert, Scotty 2 Hotty, the APA, Chuck & Billy, the Bossman, Tommy Dreamer, the jobbers...

Although it may not be popular among some, the WWF seems to see Billy and Chuck as more than filler. The same could be said for the Bossman for a week or so upon his return. I think it looks like Godfather will wind either here, or not on TV at all.

I still maintain that Chuck and Billy, like it or not, are the next WWF Tag Team Champions. Hell, a few weeks back, I thought they were going to get the belts soon, and wondered who the WWF would use as a transitional face team to use for the swap from the Dudley Boys to Chuck and Billy. That of course is where Small and Smaller come in.

The one good thing about the Chuck and Billy team is that Billy Gunn spends some of his match time on the ring apron. Sort of makes the rest almost resemble something remotely watchable. (Still, that full nelson into inverted powerbomb he did a couple weeks ago was sweet, I'll give him that one).

I'll think of something witty later, I promise.

I'm just fascinated that they would (possibly) put the belts on Chuck and Billy at this point. What did they do to deserve them? It's the headbands, isn't it?

I don't know, it's a strange case. I don't like Billy Gunn one bit, but I don't mind Chuck and Billy as a team. They have some chemistry together, and it works. Granted, it works in the way that I just want someone to beat the shit out of them, but that's how it's supposed to work I guess.

Still, besides the Dudleys, who else is there in the tag division? The Hardys are a face team, and need to feud with people not named Dudley.

True... I'll admit that I've laughed at a few of their backstage skits, esp. the one with the gay doorman who wouldn't let Stephanie in, but still.... They're both impressive-looking guys, but it just seems like they're benefitting off a really weak division.

(but then again, Tazz and Spike.....)

Oh, they are. No question about it. But sometimes, that's necessary to build the division up again. Billy and Chuck are a relatively fresh team, they don't completely and horrifically suck, and they should be able to draw enough heat until a team arises that CAN take the belts from them.

As for Small and Smaller, I never liked Tazz, and Spike is really only going to be the guy who gets his ass kicked, and uses the Dudley dog repeatedly until he gets thrown over the top, through sixteen and a half tables (decked out with thumbtacks, rusty nails, small biting dogs, and on fire), and lands headfirst on the ramp, breaking every bone in his body except for his right pinky finger, and is thusly out of the match for the next several minutes.

I would say it's the heat they are getting. Seemingly, they are over as heels...

Hardys naturally. Maybe keep Small and Smaller as a team, and have them job to Billy and Chuck a lot.

In an ideal world though, they'd finally lose the belts to the reunited Edge and Christian. I figure those two could stand to team up again anyway. With the NWO on the way, the chances for main eventing in the singles roster any time soon for either of them just went to practically zero, so they might as well return to being the most reeking of awesomeness team in the WWF's history.

I hate Billy Gunn and Chuck Palumbo...but I really like Billy and Chuck. These guys are an old school type tagteam with the look alike tights hair and whatnot, with a gimmick that's getting some intrest. I think they will get the belts soon, and I really won't have a problem with that. They might not hold them long...all bets are off when the Outsiders debut.

Yeah, with the nWo coming back, it would seem that whoever is holding the belts now are only keeping them warm for the Outsiders, who can then hold the belts while never defending them. That's how it works, right?

After building Tazz and Spike with the belts, I hardly see Vince as a guy who would, on a whim, take them off those guys and hand them over to the Outsiders.

Some people ALWAYS fear the worst, you know that?

The tag-team division is slowly getting interesting again. The Hardys went away, and now have a bunch of new guys to work with. While Albert and Scotty annoy the piss out of me, they're something that's different from the norm. Christian and Storm could very well get a Tazz and Spike push quite easily. (Spike and Tazz never won matches prior to the belts.) And of course, my current favorites, Billy and Chuck are fresh and looking solid as a unit. I could do without the gay gimmick, but I keep reminding myself this IS the WWF...

do you think the WWF might be going with the HTM syndrome with B&C???

give the belt to a guy/team with so much heat that fans are SCREAMING for someone to get the win...like HTM/Warrior for the IC belt...what, 30 seconds???

as long as the fans keep screaming... the belts should stay on their shoulders..... and when the fans start to loose interest the belts should move....

but anyway.... chances are the outsiders will take the belts just to show how dominant they are.... what are the chances ddp sides with nash again?

Why are you thinking the Outsiders will even be back?
The way I figure right now, Vince is bringing in the NWO..not the Outsiders..that means he will have these big names standing there trying to destroy the WWF..not going after the titles..*shrug*

vince has a thing for titles... but your right he has kinda left the tag titles alone so the outsiders probably wont even become involved in that division....

Think about it. If the NWO comes in to destroy the WWF, and then just gets all caught up in taking titles and defending 'em just like all the rest of the boys, wouldn't it be the stupidest thing you've ever seen since they did it 3 months ago? InVasion anyone? Hopefully Vince realises that CHANGING the product to make it fresh does not mean doing the same thing over and over. And if Edge gets back together with Christian, I'll shoot my TV. While, granted, after a few weeks of me screaming WHAT?!? at them they might even be funny, it's still just one more stale tag team. Edge needs his singles push, and Christian needs his frickin' canadian stable. Team him with Storm and let Christian do the talking. Christian will get over on the mic work, and Storm will get over on the ring work.

Taking titles what the NWO did in WCW in between causing as much chaos as they could on the show. Defending the titles? Ha. The NWO doesn't defend titles.

As to E&C. You say Edge needs his singles push. To where? There's not any upward mobility for him in the singles roster right now. He would be better off in a team for the here and now. Edge and Christian back together would benefit them both, AND the relatively dead tag division. Hell, keep Storm with them. Having Mr. Serious play off two prankster Canadians can benefit his character a lot in the end.

No matter how bad things may get, just imagine what would happen if Vince Russo was booking again, and you will feel better.

(I missed the first minute-ish, so I don't know if there was a title for this episode or not.) Mick Foley and Abyss are out, and Foley's sporting both a microphone and a bandage over his left eye -- caused by Raven's fireball attack.
