| #1 Posted on 5.1.02 1729.22 | Well, it appears that right now there are only five actual tag teams in the WWF. The Dudleys, The Hardys, APA, Scotty and Albert, and Gunn and Palumbo. Given the glut of talent in the WWF, who do you think should be teamed up to add some depth to the division?
My picks:
Lance Storm and Christian: Since it looks like we'll have a "Canadian Horsemen" group pretty soon led by Jericho. I'd put Test in here but the immunity angle lends itself better to a singles wrestler.
Hardcore Holly and Steve Blackman: Two men working for a common goal. To beat the shit out of everybody!
Kane and The Big Show: Hold on. I know what you're saying, we saw this before and it didn't work. Fact of the matter is last month, Kane and Show were just a thrown together team to give the Dudleys some big names to beat to add to their 'reputation'. But let's say 'Taker beats some 'respect' into Show and convinces Kane that he has to be more ruthless. You now have a monster heel team that can act as Taker's 'backup' while since he's injured right now. (They beat up Takers opponent and he casually goes in for the pin.)
That's just a few thoughts off the top of my head. Anyone have any other, or better, ideas?| Promote this thread! | | vsp

Tazz and a (de-brain-fried) Perry Saturn.
Al Snow and anyone.

| #4 Posted on 5.1.02 2224.04 | Instant Rating: 7.87 | Why not just bring up a few of the tag-teams that are apparently doing so well in the minors?
Familiar faces bring home the cash, but new faces keep it interesting and fresh - and may one day be a cash cow.
I'm curious to see what the Island Boys can do. Hell, Rikishi's doing next to nothing a month after his return. He can be the team's enforcer, as he was for Too Cool, and wrestle in 6-man matches if the situation calls for it.
New tag-teams that FEEL like tag-teams and not two guys stuck together for the hell of it are interesting. That's why the tag-team division was at it's hottest when Edge and Christian, The Hardy Boyz, The Dudley Boyz, and Too Cool were carrying it from the winter of 1999 - winter of 2000.
The division can have the Dudleys and Hardys - but have them mix it up with Gunn/Palumbo, as well as some interesting new teams from the minors.

Certainly they need to do something. Notice that MAYBE two of those teams are heels (Gunn and Palumbo are undetermined it seems...) One of those teams is off TV for now, and one (APA) only seems to get TV time when they need filler.
I think they should bring up the Island Boys (or whatever they're called). That would be a start. They were awesome when I saw them in dark matches.
I'd say bring back "Head Cheese", but we need heels! I'm all for Credible/Raven too.

| #6 Posted on 5.1.02 2239.05 | I've heard some good things about the Island Boys as well. The WWF was also high on the Haas' until Russ Haas' untimely death.
But just because two singles team up doesn't mean they can't become a viable tag team. Gunn and Palumbo are clicking. And they're doing some of the more familiar tag team bits like dressing alike. They may not have a team name, but that's not as important as them just working well together.
But I do see where you're coming from. The occasinal 'super-team' is fine as long as it's part of an angle like the Mega-Powers were, two top guys teaming up against two common foes. As opposed to Rock and Sock which was two main eventers holding the tag titles while the real teams had nothing to fight over. Plus, the best tag team in the company should be able to beat the two best singles guys in a match if only because of 'tag team continuity'.
On another note, I've noticed most of the suggestions have Lance Storm as part of one team or another. Dies he just seem like a 'team' guy? | Stephanie

| #7 Posted on 5.1.02 2242.41 | While they're reuniting the Impact Players, they could reunite Hardcore & Crash Holly, as well as the Brothers Grim (Undertaker & Kane). I also liked the team of Big Show & Tajiri - almost a caricature of the classic "power man & moves man" tag team combination.

| #9 Posted on 5.1.02 2338.34 | Here's a few ideas:
-I say team Tajiri up with TAKA! Now there's a double dip of Japanese fury! It would be sooooo...EEEEEEEEVIL! Not to mention it would fit perfectly into the creation of my dream uber-stable of Kaz, Funaki, Taka and Tajiri!
-D'Lo and Mark Henry: They do have some kind of Chemistry togeather. Maybe all the time Mark's been working in OVW has made him good enough to be a competent tag team wrestler.
-Saturn and Taz: Those two suplex machines could be fun and they have the added pizzaz of Saturn's aeral moves to spice it up.
-Raven and Saturn: It worked before, it could work again. I'd rather see Raven used in singles though.
And just for the hell of it!
-Tazz and Regis! NY unites as Uptown meets downtown for the big beatdown on some poor sucka. Regis is Joey Numbers! That's the final answer!
Nothing is better than X-pac!
It's all in the inflection...

| #10 Posted on 5.1.02 2344.55 | I'm gonna' say I'd like to see Storm and Angle team up more regularly and dominate the division ala' the Brothers of Destruction. Or Storm and Benoit as the Shooters. Actually Storm and Anybody'd I'd root for, that guy's a tag god. Venis and D'lo together would be good, too, possibly (if the crowd ever got behind either of them). Or, last but not the least Kanyon (when he gets back, I'd prefer he be IC level but let's all be serious) and someone else goofy like Saturn. Or...No, don't miss the Hardys, in fact I didn't just say that name. I think those two are the LAST thing the tag division needs right now. There's only room for one spot oriented tag team that does the same damn match over and over again in the wwf right now.

I think the last thing Christian needs right now is to join another tag team. If he joins another one so soon after the split w/ Edge, he's gonna get a "tag team wrestler" stigma, and it will hurt him as a singles wrestler, where I think he'll be a big star.
Like someone said in the FIRST thread we had exactly like this (why did we need another one, exactly?) give Kaienti a run with the belts. I like the team: they're talented and the "indeed" phrase was way over before TAKA left TV.

You'd think, even if he's not going to be coming back (maybe more so) and not resigning (his contract supposedly ending Spring 2002), TAKA will put in at least one more appearance for the WWF, when they run the shows in Asia.

| #18 Posted on 6.1.02 1247.11 | Okay since TAKA is history... Let's make Funaki & Tajiri a tag team. Give Funaki some cool Tajiri-like tights, give them a cool name like "The Asian Assasians" or something, and let Torrie be the mouth peice.
I, too, would like to see the Impact Players reunite.
Spike & Tazz are looking good as a team, let's keep 'em!
DDP & Kanyon return as a team, "The Jersey Boyz"!!!
For the Hell of it, let's reunite Raven with Steven Richards.
The Hollys Cousin's MUST reunite once Hardcore heals and is done with Tough Enough 2.
