TNA Impact took a big hit in the ratings this week, drawing a 0.59 rating last night. The replay of This is TNA! that preceding it drew a 0.48 rating. Once Raw ended on USA, Spike viewership went up, as Pros vs. joes drew a 0.77. Inside the UFC, which usually draws a fraction of Impact's audience, drew a 0.46 rating.
They also report Raw's rating was down .4 from the last year when they were on Thursday for the dog show....but this makes me wonder, doesn't this pretty much squash any potential rumor of TNA getting a Monday night timeslot, say ever?

I don't think there really were any "actual" rumors, but still, I hope so; it would be an awful idea. They need to get their own house in order before thinking about "taking on" WWE (and even then, I'm not sure I see the point).

I think it proves that a large portion of TNA's audience watches both WWE and TNA, and chose to watch Raw. That shouldn't really come as much of a shock to anyone. TNA is not at the point now where it can compete with WWE for ratings. It needs to keep doing its own thing on its own night, and slowly build an audience of their own, without trying to take it from WWE.
Thursday night is a very tough night already to get ratings, it was even harder for TNA with their already established "competition" airing on the same night.
TNA needs to not worry about competing with WWE, they just need to establish their own style, and audience. I don't really care to see the 2 companies go head to head, I would rather they both work harder to make shows that are worth watching. Because right now, they are both hit and miss.
It's not even close to a legit competition right now, and TNA should still focus on being an alternative and build from there. If they get try to do too much, too soon, Vince can crush them before they ever know what hit them. All it would take is picking up few of their top guys, like Joe and AJ, and it's over. I still think Christian and Angle would go back to Vince in a minute if the opportunity was there. And let's not forget when ECW was about to debut on TNN, Vince quickly gobbled up their top single and tag team stars, Taz and the Dudleys.
Dean! Have you been shooting dope into your scrotum? You can tell me! I'm hip!
