Where is Chyna at? Sable? Is Tori Wilson still on the Smackdown? I haven't seen her lately... although I don't watch the show a whole lot.

Hell they brought back Sable (again), as a face no less, for like 3 or 4 weeks to get publicity for that issue where she and tori posed together... which of course made no sense since the two had spent the better part of the previous year feuding.

Carmella somehow made it to the finals of the last diva search despite being universally hated by the other divas, the Internet community, AND the live audiences... on the strength of being a former playboy playmate. You and I both know that the "voting" is about as legitimate as Micheal Jackson saying he has only had one nose job in his life.

There were reports (only reports of course, not necessarily truth) that WWE and Hef were planning an issue that had a number of WWE divas posing, including Lilian, and Stacy Keibler was the only one who declined. Apparently that fell through. Either way, WWE wastes money on divas who serve no real purpose other than to be eye candy, while canning the ones who actually have some talent in the ring.

Where is Molly Holly? Where is Gail Kim? Where is Ivory?
Where is Mrs Rodney Mack (can't even remember her name at this point anymore)?

Forgive me if some of them comment on velocity or something, it's not like I watch the off-shows.

I'm guessing that the reason we still have Christy is because I'm guessing Vince figures if he's gonna pay her a quarter of a million dollars, he might as well do something with her.

We've got Lita showing up on every single episode of RAW when she isn't injured... yet she can't act and isn't even able to wrestle (not that she's that fantastic at it when she is), yet Trish Stratus is nowhere to be seen. I haven't seen any reports of Trish being injured... how do you have the champion not show up on the show for weeks on end anyway? It's not like I'm a huge fan of Trish, but she's worlds better than Lita at being a convincing and interesting heel.

My point is that I don't tune in to WWE to see PG rated T&A. I have the Internet. I can find more porn any time I want than any man should have access to in a lifetime, I don't need WWE to try and give me their vision of ditzy-headed lookalikes wasting time where I could, you know, be seeing promos between wrestlers that I actually give a damn about... or even, you know, a MATCH perhaps?

You've seen one bra and panties match or lingerie pillow-fight, you've seen them all.

Thank you for taking the time and effort to post a long response to my sarcastic two liner.

To answer your initial questions:

-Chyna is possibly/possibly not having sex with X-Pac and crying about how Triple H got her fired.

-Sable is knitting and sipping green tea with the girls at the country club talking about how she became the oldest woman ever to bag Brock Lesnar.

-Torrie Wilson is sitting backstage at some Smackdown show asking if anybody's seen Kidman. Yes, she's still on the roster.

Carmella made the finals of the Diva search because the people who actually voted in the Diva search content were lonely men who wanted to see Carmella (who had the most fame and was probably the most attractive of the bunch) bend over for the camera some more. Christy won because the WWE reserved the right to select the champion, and Christy had shown the most personality.

The WWE Women of Playboy issue was a hoax stolen off an internet message board and posted as news by Joey Styles on 1wrestling, as has been said multiple times (many on this very site!).

Gail Kim and Jazz were fired when the WWE decided that nobody gave a shit about them or the women's division. Molly Holly quit. Ivory is the host of WWE Experience and is probably best suited for that job at this point in her career.

Trish Stratus is injured. She will soon return, with or without the women's title. Lita is still on TV because the WWE felt the need to finish her storyline with Trish Stratus, then with Kane, then the whole Matt/Lita/Edge situation hit and now they're capitolizing.

You may not tune into the WWE for PG T&A, but there is certainly a large segment of the viewing audience that does, given the sales of the Diva mags and the DVDs, and the WWE books for them as much as they book for you. One of the problems of being a commodity of mass consumption, I'm afraid.

My point (if indeed I have one) is that you shouldn't make broad sweeping generalizations about things, or at the very least you shouldn't make them the main thrust of your argument. Very certainly, there are people who watch the WWE for the women's division and are disappointed by the lack of women's wrestling on the show. Also very certainly, there are many, many more fans who viewed the women's division as utterly pointless, and didn't mind seeing it get chopped down to the three main players (being Trish, Lita, and Victoria, for those of you keeping score).

Me? I watch for the sweaty naked men. Er...I mean to say Kane. And Stevie Richards. Who was just traded by the way. Wonder what they'll do with him....

the thing i would love to see most is have eddie come to his senses and realize rey as being his "familia". i love heel eddie about as much as anyone else but i loved the eddie/rey tag team better. i would like them to team up and fued with the mexicools. thats a long f*ckin shot but i would love to see it. chavo going to raw is a huge mistake for the wwe. sure the london/chavo matches were getting boring but unless chavo is teamed with someone quickly he wont dont a thing on raw.

someone said earlier that masters and jindrak should team up and maybe even work for HHH. i wouldnt mind seeing that although i hated evolution. i guess i really just wanna see jindrak and masters put to good use.

if eugene doesnt go to smackdown then im gonna be pissed. i want to see eugene become heidenreichs new friend.

it would be nice to see stevie richards do something even if that meant tagging with simon dean (hopefully nova)

im very against some of the stuff wwe is doing lately. some of it just pisses me off...a lot (cough fuck you wwe for putting this whole edge and matt hardy real life stuff into a stupid gimmick and its the most sickening thing ive seen in wrestling cough)

anyways...

i hope to see angle and cena do well on raw...i wouldnt mind seeing cena take on jericho (y2j being the hell obviously) cause that would put two of the greatest mic workers at each others throats.

angle will hopefully have more classic matches with hbk.

hopefully RVD will fued with shelton benjamin. i think that that fued would be over huge considering each man is a high flyer and u dont get to see too many people with ability that rvd and benjamin have. they could put on some very awesome matches. problem is who would be the heel? i could see shelton as a heel more than rvd.

i kinda hope to see big show do well on raw..ive always liked him.

carlito can kiss my ass...ive hated him from day one and now i hate him more for taking the ic title from benjamin. "that's not cool"??? blow me

ive been a big fan of christian since b4 they gave him this huge push so i hope to see him do well.

batista is a gimme cause we know hes gonna kill every heel in the locker room.

i hate hassan...i hate hassan with a passion. it's not even the arab american thing. he is just ANNOYING.

i wanna see orton fued with taker then batista.

ive been a big fan of benoit when he was on smackdown that once a upon a time ago when heyman was a dick to him. i hope to see good things from him.

suzuki, dupree, basham, and jindrak...best of luck getting anything over on the other side...my guess is jindrak will do the best there.

regal, richards, grenier, and dean. hopefully bwo will come back. maybe regal will join with jbl to fight them.

grenier never impressed me and i dont expect him to here either.

i wanna see charlie hass do something!!! he has so much potential. i would even go for him fueding with one of the trades then maybe moving to someone better.

so lets see

RAW
Kurt Angle
John Cena
Big Show
Carlito Cool
Rob Van Dam
Mark Jindrak
Rene Dupree
Danny Basham
Kenzo Suzuki
Chavo Guerrero

Smackdown
Chris Benoit
Batista
Randy Orton
Christian
Hassan
Daivari
William Regal
Candice
Sylvain Grenier
Simon Dean
Steven Richards

top 5 for raw(in my eyes...this is just who i like to see more) would be angle, cena, show, rvd, and jindrak

" " smackdown (in my eyes again) would be benoit, batista, rko, christian, and regal (as i said b4...i hate hassan.)

alright everyone sorry for rambling i just pretty much said what came to mind. thanks for hearing me out though and dont think im crazy, i just have an imagination.

From what I remember, Torrie & Stacy were brought over when the WCW ship sank and probably have nice contracts. Lita & Trish both came up during the peak years of WWE and probably got nice cushy long-term deals as a result. Christy's making a quarter mil. Victoria's probably still around because she's over and cheaper than the other five. I'm under the impression that Carmella would've been signed had she asked for similar money as was given to the rest of the DivaSearch losers. Everyone else is kept on TV to justify the expense, explaining why Limping Lita, Spaz & Masked Stacy are on TV while not doing much of anything.

There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened.

Lita and Trish might have signed something with the WWE back when WCW was still around, but even if they signed at the end of the Monday Night Wars, their contracts would have been up a long time ago. Most of them are around 3-4 years, and that's mainly for the stars like Angle and RVD. They would have either had to take a pay cut like every guy that had a overly-big contract from then or else they are free to go to TNA and take their chances there.

Stacy and Torrie would be in the same boat. McMahon's contract 'extensions' aren't really extensions. They're new dollar amounts based on the marketplace and how worried he is about his competition. For example, D'Lo Brown wasn't going to be offered his last contract's amount, and so he either turned down the new amount and left, or else they just didn't bother with him.

I'd say those for getting the tv time that they do is probably because all four of them are more over than they were when the WWE brought them in, and they're all staying over without them really having to do anything with any of them. They've never done much of anything (aside from Trish and Lita) but they were never expected to.

Good explanations by Tribal Prophet and Matt Hocking. I'd like to add ...

Christy has gotten a major push to justify the quarter-million, but in her defense, she's pretty charismatic and has good presence for someone who they signed off the street. She's also shown a real willingness and eagerness to learn and improve and, well, make an attempt to earn her place. A lot of fans have (not unrightfully) turned on her because she's been shoved down our throats, but conversely, she's also genuinely popular with a lot of fans, especially, perhaps strangely enough, young girls.

Torrie Wilson doesn't do much anymore except participate in random bikini contests and dress up like The Sexy American Flag for two reasons: 1) Kevin Dunn and Vince have a philosophy that their fans just want to see Babes on TV, and they don't need a reason to be there, people will just be happy that they're there because they're so darn hot.
2) WWE Creative's cup doesn't exactly runneth over when it comes to bothering to come up with storylines for, well, the majority of people on the roster. So as of late, when the Smackdown writers have decided to include one of the women in a storyline, the TV time has gone to one of the fresher faces like Joy Giovanni at the end of last year and more recently Michelle McCool.

I think Stacy Keibler is an underrated performer. Not every woman in the wrestling business has to become a wrestler, and some have plenty to offer in the right non-wrestling roles. And Stacy has always shown an interest in participating in storylines as opposed to just being some girl on TV for no real reason other than she's there to be good-looking. She goes through long periods of time where they didn't have anything for her to do, but she has still had some decent roles. She added something to Test's act (except when they nauseatingly made them French kiss on TV), even if I can think of far better knights in shining armor than Scott Steiner. They tried something with Randy Orton that they had to abort early when they realized he wasn't going to be around going forward. Their pairing didn't last long enough to mean much, but E for Effort. Plus she's really likeable, so people do get mad when a Test or Scott Steiner or Randy Orton does something bad to her.

That's why I really liked putting her with Hurricane & Rosey -- she needed something to do, they needed something to enhance their act, it's a good fit, and they're all kinda getting used now. And remarkably, that's what wrestling is, is taking everybody you have under contract, finding the right roles for them, and maximizing their strengths. The association with Stacy gets Hurricane and Rosey more over, and being Super Stacy gives Stacy a reason to exist. It all took the tiniest bit of effort, but that's effort that WWE writers are rarely willing to put into the majority of the roster, male or female.

So personally, as a fan of maximizing the talent you have under contract, I'd much prefer that someone like Torrie Wilson would be used to enhance a wrestler's act as opposed to just being someone they randomly trot out to try and pop a quarterhour and/or boner. You can take 10 seconds of thought and come up with a role for Torrie Wilson that would work for the same reasons that the way they use Stacy works well. Who's a guy who's a good worker, doesn't stand out, and comes to mind when you think of Torrie Wilson? Billy Kidman! Then again, they've had their reasons for not wanting to be in storylines on TV which are hard to argue with, and that was a better answer eight months ago when Kidman had a push and a feud, so we'll go with survival of the fittest act and say Paul London, since they've shown the tiniest amount of interest in doing something with him.

All that being said, I think it's pretty surprising that of all those women they brought in last year, some are actually looking like they maybe just maybe might be able to contribute something:
- Christy Hemme, like I said, has actually demonstrated charisma, an ability to connect, and a willingness to learn and improve. It's an investment that's not exactly worth $250,000, but she's still significantly more worthwhile than a lot of people give her credit for.
- Michelle McCool has a lot of athletic potential.
- Maria Kanellis was at one point the very worst of the bunch but through a little magic and a lot of incompetence has somehow become quite entertaining.

So that's three acts of some worth, which is three more than I expected there'd be when they first brought them all in. And that's not even counting Melina Perez, who is amazing but isn't part of this group because she had actual, gasp, training and a background in wrestling before she was brought on TV. It's also not counting Amy Weber, who made a decent heel before she left.

Now don't get me wrong, I sincerely wish Gail Kim et al were still employed and that there was a women's division. And Joy Giovanni, Candice Michelle, and that other Smackdown woman who not even I can name without checking are all pretty terrible and useless. But just because a woman doesn't wrestle doesn't mean she can't contribute meaningfully, it's just that very rarely does WWE bother to try to use them in a way that would actually benefit anyone. And maybe Candice has been traded because someone has an idea for her as someone's valet on SD. Or maybe she's being punished by being sent over to Randy Orton's brand. Actually, if Randy can use his powers to drive away Joy, Candice, and [Lauren?], then they conceivably could be batting 1.000 on using models with no wrestling background.

So I can't believe I wrote 8 paragraphs about people whose characters either love to take off all their clothes on TV or are bitches & whores for ending a relationship with a dude. And just in time for Sgt. Slaughter's 1st Annual Bikini Bootcamp. GO ASHLEY

Something occured to me, could the reason that they split the Bashams up is to make room for the Shane Twins (who are signed to a WWE developmental deal)?

http://www.obsessedwithwrestling.com/gallery/s/shanetwins.html

They could almost pass for bulkier Bashams, eh?
