Ah, someone reminded me of Frenchie Martin. It's just that Dino Bravo's manager was as French as Dupéré, Grenier and me. The guy has a strong poor montreal french canadian neighbourhood accent. French people from France couldn't understand a word he said.
The worst thing I remember was his color-commentary for a few years on the french-canadian WWF Superstars. Nobody could beat him today. Don't even try. Impossible. Ray Rougeau called the matches... and believe me, even Tony was better than him.

Tiger Ali is originally from Markham, Ontario, slightly north of Toronto (as is Chief Morley, incidentally). Piper was born near Winnipeg, Manitoba. Here are other nations that need to be represented, though:
The Bowery - Raven Anywhere He Darn Well Pleases - Sid Vicious Out of Town - Snake Brown (only late-80's NWA fans will remember that one, though)

| #29 Posted on 19.4.03 1953.22 | The WWE never claimed that either Guerrero was from Mexico. They have always been (in truth and storyline) from El Paso, Texas. The fans are the idiots that think Guerrero and Mysterio are Mexican. Why does this happen? Has anyone ever mistaken Booker T for a Botswanan? It's amazing how ignorant of other countries we are as Americans. Rikishi is of Samoan heritage, yet he's played just about every race with light brown skin you can name. Yokozuna? We can't tell a Samoan from a Japanese man?
Sorry, this thread just got to me for some reason. This has been bothering me since they told us Grenier was French-Canadian two months ago, and now we're suppossed to belive he's French. I'd blame Vince, but the fans buy into it, so more power to him. I guess it's nice to belive that the WWE is a melting pot- though it'd be better if there were an Intercontinental Title for all these Canadians and Americans to fight over.

I've never heard them claim Rikishi was anything but Samoan, and while Yoko's manager may have been Japanese, he was always announced as Samoan as well.

No, I actually recall them always announcing Yoko as being from Japan(in the ring, during his wwf sumo gimmick). I suppose I could check some of my tapes again, but that's I remember.

Thinking back, digging through my horribly faulty memory, they may have during the early part of his run (when he wore the white "My ass is a movie screen" tights)... but I distinctly remember them saying he was from the "Island of Samoa" or something similar for most of the time he was active...

| #40 Posted on 21.4.03 1823.06 | You can add the Commandant and the Truth Comission (Sniper and Recon) to the pool. They were supposed to be from South Africa. No clue where they were really from... although I remember Sniper and Recon broke off on their own in early 1998 as "The Apocalypse" and might have been Declared Frenchies.
Nasty Boys were from Allentown, PA... which should be a foreign country.
And all Parts Unknownians would have to chime in with the Warrior.
I think Yoko flip-flopped. At first, he was Polynesian, but as time wore on he may have become Japanese. Maybe Mr. Fuji moved him to Japan? Similar to the way Jimmy Hart moved the Rougeaus to Memphis, TN. I remember WCCW would sometimes bill Brusier Brody as being "from Japan", but it just meant that he hung out there.
