WWE Superstars #4 May 7, 2009 Since I still had this on my DVR, I figured I'd take a stab at it. It may be filmed in HD, but I don't get WGN America in HD.
–- World is watching open and then into the Superstars open.
--Edge, the World Heavyweight Champion, comes out to talk. Grisham and JR announcing. He welcomes us to The Cutting Edge and says he wants to talk to his opponent at Judgment Day, Jeff Hardy, who come into the ring. They both sit on stools and Edge talks about his feud with Cena ending. He said got rid of one long time rival and will do it again with Hardy. Just like how it had to end with Cena, it he said it has to end with Hardy. Hardy will go back to whatever hole he came out from and be just a loser. Hardy reminds Edge that he beat him “some punk” for the title. Edge calls it a lucky night, but Hardy reminds him that Matt cracked him in the head. Jeff wants his gold that was stolen from him. Edge reminds everyone that they started with the company about the same time, 10 years ago and that Edge takes advantage out of every opportunity and that Hardy gets opportunity after opportunity handed to him and he squanders them. “Deep down inside, you're still the same screw up you've always been and always will be.” Hardy tells Edge that will be more feuding ahead and tries to go for the Twist of Fate. Blocked, Edge goes for a Spear, missed, Hardy does hit the Twist of Fate and goes for the Swanton, IT LANDS. He poses on a buckle and leaves Edge laying. Then poses with the big gold belt and shoots it out of the air as he drops it on the mat.
–Morrison vs Jericho TONIGHT. Commercials
--Match #1 – RAW Diva Tag team match – Santina Marella & Kelly Kelly vs. Rosa Mendes & Beth Phoenix
Cole and King announcing They mention Santino's Casa and how Phoenix and Santino have gone to counseling. Beth said how dating Santino was like dating a child. Cole: I'm sure, King, you can see what Beth is talking about. King: Just because my wives have had a marriage license before a driver's license... A decent back and forth match with some cool spots. Kelly Kelly with a Cartwheel-backflip-elbow into the corner on Mendes and Marella with a Front roll-cartwheel and back elbow in the corner to Phoenix. Marella did the punching both arms while kicking both legs on Phoenix that didn't land. Cole: “She looked like one of those Knock-em Sock-em robots.” King corrects him. Finish: Marrella with a drop toe hold on Mendes with Phoenix laying on the mat. Tag to Kelly Kelly. Mendes is on all fours. Kelly Kelly uses her as a stepping stool and jumps off of her to drop a leg across Mendes' shoulders for the 3. (About 4 mins). The winners celebrate in the right. Phoenix carries Mendes in her arms.
--Finley is up next! Zack Ryder is his opponent and he loves his hair “Woo woo woo!” Commercials
--Match #2 – ECW Singles match – Finley (Already in the ring) vs. Zack Ryder
Striker and Mathews announcing. “Woo woo woo” Ryder is playing a douche pop-collar heel. He keeps getting timeouts by tangling himself in the ropes. Complains about Finley messing up his hair which eventually he does on purpose. “WOO WOO WOO” and then Finley slaps the WOO out of his mouth. Back and forth with Finley getting a spot in where Ryder tries to do a slingshot to the outside but Finley pulls out the apron and crotches Ryder on it. Striker reminds us that Ryder is a former Tag champ. Finish: Ryder goes for a spear in the corner and misses. Finley lands the Celtic Cross. (About 4 mins)
--Morrison vs Jericho TONIGHT. Commercials (including one for this very show)
--Looking back to who got drafted to SD. With a package on Morrison vs Shelton on SD. Recap on Jericho talking on SD, Jericho getting DQ'ed from the fatal-fourway. Jericho confronting Long, and Morrison calling Jericho a quitter and their brawl.
--Jericho is WALKING. Commercials.
--Match #3 – Smackdown Singles match – Main Event with about 17 mins to the hour– Chris Jericho vs. John Morrison
Grisham and Ross announcing. Lots of sone chain wrestling holds to start the match. Jericho gets knocked outside. Morrison did a baseball “slide” between the middle and bottom ropes. One spot had Morrison looking to do a Lionsault but Jericho pushed him out and we got to a commercial. (about 3 mins shown)
Back after about 3 mins of commercials Jericho had grounded Morrison but he mounted a nice comeback with nice high flying kicks and a knee to a seated Jericho. Morrison had a weird spot. He looked like he was going to hit an atomic drop (his front to Jericho's back) but then drops him face first, like a reverse Sky High. Morrison got a rope break on the Walls of Jericho. Morrison hit that SWEET split-legged-corkscrew-moonsault. Jericho's foot taps the rope to break the count. Jericho is whining to the ref a lot. Finish: Shelton Benjamin's music and pyro hit. He is on the Tron. “Hey Morrison, you remember me. I'm the Gold Standard. Now that I have your attention. (Points to camera) GOTCHA!. Morrison turns around and eats a Codebreaker. (about 12 mins, about 9 shown). Total wrestling time: about 16 mins. Shelton taunts Morrison from the stage. “I gotcha! I gotcha!”
I really wanted to break into a more CRZ-esque play-by-play recap but this show is about half a week old and I wanted to get it out before Raw started. Would people actually a more complete recap, or is a short recap sufficient. Meaning, if people asked for it, I'd do a blow-by-blow. I really wanted to but I have never done it before and time was a factor.

"I remember meeting a mother of a child who was abducted by the North Koreans right here in the Oval Office." George W. Bush - June 26, 2008, during a Rose Garden news briefing.
Yeah, I agree. Coach and All were clumsy, but JR and King are boring and predictable. If you took JR and Al, that would be the best combo. JR, when he's into a match, is still a damn good play-by-play guy.
