The demo was released on the Playstation Store in the last week, so I grabbed it to see how well it played. I didn't bother with the 2008 version, so it was a bit of a shock to find out that they've swapped the finisher and run buttons.
On the demo, you can choose between Shawn Michaels, HHH and the Hardys. The only match types available are one on one and normal tag and it played like...well, like any other Smackdown vs Raw game. Anyone else tried it out yet?
Insert witty and/or amusing saying or phrase here.
The swapped the run and finisher buttons for 2008. It really bugged me, but I got used to it after playing it.
I tried it out at a gaming expo in Toronto, and it plays, yeah, like any SvR game. I played against a whiny little kid who complained that I was beating his ass (who resorted to cheap tactics and whatever) so my enjoyment of the game was kind of tainted, but all in all, it's a decent game.
Is there manual targeting in the game? It's not a big deal in single player mode, but can be a huge pain in the ass in multiplayer. Last years version was a blast in multiplayer, but all too often you'd be engaged with a friend and then suddenly at the worst moment you try to attack another player giving the person you want to attack an opening.

Thought this might be of interest here. In the world of RPGs there are really only two big boys, Square and Enix. Well, that list just shrank a bit. RPGamer has just received word from Japan that the two videogame giants are going to be merging.
