It's much worse, because that incident was f'ing HILARIOUS. In fact, most of the promo stuff related to that feud was great (unintentional?) comedy... Bossman getting Show's mother to admit that he's a bastard was gold.

Oh, for the love of GOD, last night's show was also billed as a tribute show, built entirely around Eddie. The apparent purpose was to draw another rating (I'd like to think otherwise but this ended up being way too transparent) and to use the tragic death of one of their beloved employees to get heat on heels for being dastardly (and that part can't be interpreted any other way). Do you really think that once someone dies, that death immediately becomes just another part of the friggin' soap opera and should be used to advance storylines? Please.

Declaring I'M NOT OFFENDED~! is mighty impressive and all, but that doesn't mean you still can't call a tasteless spade a tasteless spade. And WWE having a very poor track record doesn't make their latest wrong, stupid thing they did any less wrong and stupid.

Big Show's sobbing was impressive. No wonder he gets the movie roles. I doubt even Meryl Streep could get her nose to run like that.

It was? Until they ran the Eddie video, I don't remember ANYONE saying the Smackdown special was supposed to be an Eddie tribute show. It wasn't in the ads, it wasn't mentioned before the show, until the tribute vid, they were pushing the "David v. Goliath" aspect. And how was the show "built entirely around Eddie"? I don't remember anyone even saying his name during the Benoit/Booker match.

Whoops. I don't know why I used the word 'billed' as if it was advertised prior as that, 'cause you're right that it wasn't. But the show ended up revolving around Rey's dedication of the match to Eddie and everything Eddie-related. In other words, this wasn't "back to storylines." Last week was back to storylines, but last night was back to Eddie.

It didn't have to be in every single segment, but the show was overtly about Deadie Guerrero, from the video to the prayer to coming out to Eddie's music in his car and so on and so on. What I meant was that he said that the tribute was over and this was back to storylines, but last night's storylines were still all about the tribute. It's one thing to move on and getting back to business, but what they did last night was anything but moving on. All I meant was, one doesn't have to be offended or even upset about it, but just don't try and pretend otherwise.

That's funny.

I'm pretty sure they mentioned that Rey was dedicating the match to Eddie in the days leading up to the show.

Somehow I am on the wwe mailing list, and I believe it was mentioned in the email telling me to watch the switched show as a dedication to Eddie.

I didn't watch the show, but it sounds bad.

They mentioned it and advertised it as such on their website.

Maybe the night wasn't billed to be "Tribute Show V1.1", but that match certainly was.

ps. "Deadie Guerrero"? That's awesome(!) but given last night's show, don't be surprised if you find it stolen by the WWE come next week.

Did anyone check out Byte This with Chavo? They are saying that Chavo is giving his reaction to the angle. Seeing as though they are advertising it, I would assume it is positive. I can't stream it myself as my connection is horrible.

As someone who shrugged when Hassan tried to decpitate the Undertaker AND Katie Vick I looked at that clip and though "That's just wrong."

Below them though? Hell no.

A billion dollar carny show is still carny show.

The Undertaker must have borrowed Hollywood Hogan's shoe polish for his goatee. If Punk got paid per happy smile and happy laugh during his matches, he'd be the richest guy on the roster.
