The Quick and Dirty for WWE SmackDown! for 1.10.09, from East Rutherford, NJ. (Which is WWE Universe is "Just outside New York City)

*In unrelated news, WWE has signed Low-Ki. While I'm a big fan of him and can see him eventually coming into the title picture at ECW before possible moving onto bigger things, I'm just not sure where they can go with him.

- The show opens with JR and Tazz telling us about a hit-and-run involving Jeff Hardy and his girlfriend Beth. So this is the angle that is supposedly bringing Christian back?

Triple Jeopardy, Tables Match: Triple H over John Morrison in 4:26. This was ok for what it was. After the match, Chavo and the Miz attack, setting up an arm injury that Trips gets to sell through the next two matches.

- Backstage, Vickie and Trips exchange pleasantries.

Match 2: The Undertaker over Shelton Benjamin in 12:33 via Tombstone. This is your match of the night. A great match that made both guys look good, and Shelton got in a ton of offense to quell my fears. There is potential in a longer feud if they wanna go there.

- The "Police Footage" of the Jeff Hardy incident airs. The time on the tape is 02:02 am. Jeff explains that he was run off the road, and while both he and his girl are shaken up, they're in good shape.

- Backstage, Edge says his prayers are with Jeff and Beth.

Match 3: The Bella Twins over Michelle McCool and Victoria in 3:37 when a Bella Twin pinned Victoria with an Oklahoma Roll. The Oklahoma Roll, ftw! Michelle McHeel is rather interesting. She gives Victoria the Styles Clash after the match, but really, how stupid do you have to be to stare at your partner being fucking Oklahoma Rolled while being less than five feet away? Michelle managed to rip off Hunter Hearst Helmsley, Scott Steiner, and AJ Styles in the same match, that must be some kind of record.

Triple Jeopardy, Handicap Match: Triple H over The Miz and Chavo Guerrero in 4:17 when Trips pinned Miz with the Pedigree. The loss came about when Chavo took a walk. Why the hell would you do that? The match was so-so. Trips was consistent in his selling of the arm.

- Afterwards, Vickie (EXCUSE HER!) announces that Trips's Last Man Standing Match will be against The Big Show.

- Vladimir Kozlov trains! And learns to speak functional English, apparently.

VIP Lounge: People are actually chanting MVP's name. Kennedy is the guest. Guest. He plugs his movie and says he's trying to inspire MVP to stop whining and complaining. Some security comes in to reposses the Lounge's Furniture. Kennedy notes that things can get worse, leading to The Boogeyman. Boy, was he right. MVP eats the Pumphandle Slam but escapes the worms. Good for him.

WWE Tag Titles: The Colons over THE Brian Kendrick and Ezekiel Jackson in 5:17 when Carlito pinned THE Brian with the Backstabber. It was some perfectly acceptable wrestling, to rip off Scott Keith. It's good to see the Colons get some heat back with a win. And it's always great to get THE Brian on my TV.

- Cellphone footage of Jeff's accident is shown. Now mind you, it happened around 2am on a nearly deserted highway, meaning someone was snooping around in the bushes at the dead of night to get this footage. If that's not suspicious behavior, I don't know what is.

- Jeff joins us "via Satellite" to promise that he'll be there next week, and at the Rumble to defend the title against Edge.

Triple Jeopardy, Last Man Standing Match: Big Show over Triple H in 16:30 when he Knocked Hunter the Fuck Out. It started out slow, but was pretty nice after about 8 minutes. Intriguing ending.

- End Show.

Wrestling Counter: 47 minutes!

*While Triple Jeopardy was a rehash of the Championship Challenge from No Mercy 2007, this was an enjoyable show highlighted by Taker/Shelton. The main event was nice, and it adds a bit of intrigue as to how Trips will get into the Rumble now. I'm going to reserve my judgment of the Hardy Incident, but I'm already turning a bit sour on it.

Holy Shinola! Low-KI/Senshi in the WWE? If they start him as a heel, and make him seem like some guy's small deceptively deadly hitman/muscle it could work great for him.

Edge has a problem with Hurricane Helms for some reason. Sends out Low Ki in a suprise attack. Couple of kicks to the body, Top rope Double Stomp to the chest. Helms spits a blood capsule. Jr and Tazz sells it as if Helms ribs were crushed and he's in the hospital recovering.

Rinse and repeat. Miniature assasin! There goes my theory of TNA's Suicide being Ki.

Yep. Here's the article from 411mania (411mania.com).

Rather than crowd the RAW GM storyline further, I have a better idea. There's never been a big issue of switching someone's brand when they return from an injury. (They did so recently with Bradshaw and Mark Henry, for example.)
