I guess this is the place for SD Feedback so I'll come out and say it...

I think that JBL...MAY be...the best wrestler on the mic today. That's all.

I liked SD! this year...it wasn't as good as Raw has been over the past two weeks, but it was good.

I don't care for Eddie's new music. I think they should drop the "lie, cheat, steal" schtick. I mean, when Rikishi was a heel, he wasn't a dancing fat man, a la Too Cool.

Why did they give Matt Morgan time? I'm NOT amused by his gimmick. I kept thinking that Reigns would have been better off where Morgan was. Sans stuttering, of course.

I have to agree with Bob C -- JBL is a (pause) MICROPHONE (pause) GOD. I like hearing him rip off the Rock's lines, too.

I think that a Big Show/Carlito feud could be fun.

Yeah the only thing that came close to Eddy tonight was JBL's promo.

Almost makes me want to order the ppv.

Someone needs to tell Mrs. Booker-T that:

#1. Stop doing Nancy Kerrigan impersonations backstage.

#2. Just because your husband is being attacked by another wrestler, there is no need to constantly scream non-stop as if you are being stabbed to death. You must remember that your husband fights these same wrestlers for a living.

The Bob Holly caricatures are f'ing gold. I don't wish to slight the writing and design of the rest of the material, but nothing makes me laugh more than those (in a good way).

Eddy is so good in this role, I wish they would rename the show SmackRey! and just have Eddy murderize luchadores in between soliloquies.

"Now is the winter of our discontent, homes!" SPLAT! "Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow, creeps in this petty pace from day to day, vato!" KABLANG! Make it a one-man show with Eddy beating up crash dummies, have it tour the world in a revue/cabaret style show with background dancers and an orchestra playing his theme, and a single spotlight shining on a tuxedo-clad Eddy -- tie-undone, mic in one hand, a mask in the other -- as he sits on a stool and looks to the heavens before taking said stool and bashing a faux luchadore to crutons. You would stand in line like a Star Wars geek for this. All y'all would.

I haven't gotten to watch Smackdown in ages (no UPN at school) and I finally was able to catch it last night. JBL was AWESOME on the mic last night. His words flowed very nicely, he got funny at the right times, intense at the right times, and at least 95% of what he said actually made sense. That part about owning someone's soul was little too cheesy though. I like how he throws little 'down home' sayings into his micwork. There's no way he's going to beat Cena, but where does he go from here? Hopefully the Draft shakes things up in terms of opponents for JBL.

The bit with Angle talking about having all kinds of sex with Sharmell was just retarded. I don't get why they have to throw things like this into a perfectly find feud. It doesn't make me hate Angle any more, or want to see Booker get retribution. It doesn't really make me do anything, except laugh at my TV and think how entirely unnecessary it was. How did they even get that by the censors during Smackdown's "kiddy-safe" first hour?

Is anybody else annoyed by some of Booker T's mannerisms in the ring? He seems like he's always failing his arms around for no reason when he does anything. The way he punches or chops just looks stupid and very unrealistic to me, like he's trying too hard to be a showman with his moves rather than an intense wrestler. He especially should not be doing stuff like this in very short grudge match/brawl. Maybe it's just me though, I've never really seen in him what most other people seem to see.

I've been hearing all these things on the board about Paul London but haven't seen him in action. While the 6-man tag match wasn't the best showcase for him, what I saw was pretty good. I especially like his entrance with the back-flip off the turnbuckle. The dropsault is cool. The boot tassels rock. I can't wait to see London in a longer match without the extra baggage of Bob Holly.

Eddie was awesome. Not amazing, since I didn't really understand where he was coming from with some of the stuff he said in his promo, but one step below at 'awesome'. Hopefully some of what he said will be cleared up in later weeks (why does he say Rey made him do it and that he wanted to get beaten? how was his 'latino heat' being stolen by everybody?). The lighting effects during the promo really made it. They should employ them more often during big promos like this, it really helps set the mood. I cannot wait for Rey to come back and see where this all goes.

Other random things:
-Matt Morgan sounds ridiculous. There is seriously something wrong with whoever thought this gimmick was a good idea. Morgan also looks kinda stupid with that sort of facial hair.
-Heidenriech's gimmick is strange, though mildly entertaining. Mildly as in if you took 'not entertaining' and increased it just enough to go right over the bored into 'entertaining' and not a step further.
-Charlie Haas should be in the Shelton Benjamin position on Smackdown. He's got loads of potential, and there's no way he's going to realize it being in a tag team with Bob Holly. He obviously has the tools for the good ringwork, and just needs to practice and develop his personality/mic skills, both just like Shelton. The Draft will hopefully address this in some manner.

Watch Velocity.

In other news, color me disturbed at Kurt Angle's "I want to have perverted sex with your gutterslut wife" bit. Not only was it completely random and had me rolling with laughter, but after I regained my composure all I could think of was the kids in the audience. I mean, in one segment you have Heidenreich bringing a kid to the ring, and in the next you have Kurt Angle talking about banging Booker T's wife. Did anyone else find this a bit disturbing?

A pretty entertaining, but very disturbing Smackdown, yes. I mean, Kurt Angle's talking about bestiality, the Big Show is poisoned, Eddie threatens to murder Rey, Heidenreich makes friends with small children *shudder*.

Still, I liked the show for the most part. I just don't care about Booker T, so the main event was pretty blah to me. But Eddie is, as noted, awesome in his new heel role and I, for one, hope he destroys Rey at the PPV to really establish a groove as a killer heel. From my own interpretation of his promo, the fans and Rey have taken his lying, cheating and stealing and taking away everything that was threatening about it. They neutered him, made him safe and friendly and someone to cheer for. Now he remembers what it feels like to really be evil, and he likes it. Or something like that. The new music is nicely sinister, and I'm glad they're ditching the low rider.

I'm really digging MNM and, outside of Trish, Malina's pretty much the hottest woman on the roster right now. Having Chavo as their buddy also gives him something to do and might even lead to *gasp* the cruiserweight title in an angle that gets airtime other than on Velocity.

The Big Show thing made me roll my eyes a bit, just because Carlito would've had to be psychic to know that Big Show would necessarily steal the apple and gobble it up. Not to mention the fact that he's apparently invented the fastest acting poison known to man. Still, I like both guys and Carlito makes a good coward, so I have no problem with them feuding. Call it a draw.

JBL is awesome, plain and simple. With Cena's intense promo last week (his best in a while) combined with JBL's this week, they've really made the feud seem like it matters and the 'I Quit' stip gives it some intrigue in spite of the foregone conclusion.

Oh, and not that I really miss him but...just where is the Undertaker again?

So, I would say a good show, but not spectacular. Give me more Eddie!

Not only that, but Kurts supposed to be pro-abstinence, remember? Granted, that was so long ago that he still had hair.

I think some of you are reading too deep into Eddie's promo. He was just giving us good crazy heel. None of what Eddie said MEANS anything. It was his absolutely non-sensical interpretation of the events of the past few months. Like I mentioned in an earlier thread, Eddie's work during this turn is a dead-on depiction of a serious nervous breakdown, during which people often blame others for their own failures even when there is no reason to do so. That said, I think this was Eddie's best promo since the one he cut on Lesnar before he won the title. Just great stuff.

I stopped enjoying Kurt Angle ever since they changed him from being a comical heel to a evil Triple-H-like clone.
