Smackdown was pre-empted in Canada for preseason baseball? Really?

The show opened with a Batista promo, where he chided the fans for booing him and ran down all three potential opponents he would face at Wrestlemania, saying that Stephanie could hit harder than all three of them. Triple H took umbrage with his wife bring brought into this and Batista trying to make things personal, and Batista said Triple H was the one who'd started making it personal by running him down. Triple H said that Batista had grown soft and he hadn't seen 'the Animal' since his return, and he booked Batista against Sheamus. Sheamus had the upper hand in that match, but Batista bailed out of the ring to avoid a Brogue Kick, then grabbed a chair and hit Sheamus repeatedly for the DQ, following that up with a Batista Bomb.

In other matches, the Shield (Rollins and Ambrose) beat 3MB when Ambrose hit his finisher on McIntyre. For those keeping score, and I know from the last few threads some are, Ambrose's finisher is named the Dirty Deeds. Kane and the New Age Outlaws were out after the match to immediately put Rollins and Ambrose in a second match, against Rybaxel. The Shield won this match as well, this time with Rollins hitting the Peace of Mind on Axel.. er, wait, the Peace of Mind has now been renamed to 'the Curbstomp'. Shield finisher names now vary from show to show, apparently! The Ryback took a Superman punch and triple powerbomb after the match.

(the later Raw recap of the Shield/Real Americans match also had the finisher call redubbed as 'the Curbstomp')

Is Roman Reigns injured or something? Maybe they just want to re-establish Ambrose as being a team player, but this has been a couple of weeks now with a lot of Ambrose/Rollins teaming and no match time for Reigns.

Continuing on, Sin Cara defeated Damien Sandow quickly with a rollup, Fandango defeated Goldust with a kick to the head after a distraction by Summer Rae. The Bella Twins beat AJ and Tamina when Tamina walked out on AJ, leaving Brie to hit the X-Factor for the win. Jack Swagger beat Jimmy Uso via the Patriot Lock. In the Miz vs. Mark Henry match, Miz dumped Henry over the top rope, which was good and all except that that wasn't how you'd win that match. Henry finished with the World's Strongest Slam.

The main event had Bray Wyatt facing off against the Big Show, with a Wyatt promo in the middle of the show to help set it up, sort of. Wyatt spoke of the masks people wear in their everyday lives, and how wearing a mask too long makes it a part of you, so that you can't take it off anymore than your own skin. Bray knew what was under Cena's mask, and asked if Cena had heard 'her voice' yet, before finishing up by singing "He's got the whole world in his hands". In the match, Wyatt demanded Show show him what he could do, taking a big chop before turning the tables. Big Show cut him off after the Exorcist walk, but only momentarily, before hitting a corner splash and the Knox block. Luke Harper landed a shot on Big Show behind the referee's back that was probably unnecessary, leading to Wyatt hitting Sister Abigail for the pinfall win.

That was a lot of mostly short matches on Smackdown! Thoughts?

Trying to figure out what it says that the Shield members are getting names for their individual finishers, but we still don't have a name for the triplebomb.

I'm Charlie Owens, good night, and good luck.

According to those good ole Dirt Sheet Rumours, Ambrose & Rollins will eventually turn heel on Reigns at some point down the road, so they want us all to get used to seeing the 2 of them as a unit. The real question is: is Heath Slater injured? I'd rather see him selling for the Shield than Mahal...

Bray just missed seeing those really long commercial previewing that Box Trolls movie... (Did anyone else see those a lot a few months back? I think every time I watched an NBC sitcom On Demand, we had to sit through one.)

I'm not sure it needs a name but off the top of my head 'Coat Of Arms' wouldn't suck too hard.

We might be too close to the end of The Shield to bother with naming it though. If they're naming their individual moves it's for a reason.

Oh how I got to really hate having to watch that movie trailer.

It was cute the first couple of times having to sit through it while waiting for my show to continue, but I watch a lot of NBC programming on Demand and it got to the point that I had to leave the room and do something until it was over.

I don't want to see The Shield break up and feud. It's cliche'. Years ago you could see teams/stables go their separate ways without fights and not be at each others' throats. WWE Creative should earn that title and look for a split- if they so desire - along those lines.

I feel strongly about this because IMO in 5 years there could be a clamoring for a Shield reunion if they've never been at each others' throats and they've all climbed the latter.

I dunno, maybe they feel they can use the DX model, but I prefer the Horsemen model.

Oh My God ... you mean they still had Smackdown even though Nathan Jones is gone ... how could they?!?!? Anyways ... sounds like a decent show ... Los Guerreros vs. WGTT Part 6,984 sounds pretty good ... Face A-Train? ...
