The main event of tonight's show was an eight man tag match that got three segments, with Daniel Bryan, the Rhodes Brothers and Big E Langston beating Randy Orton and the Shield, with Bryan hitting TKTBC on Orton for the win after Orton failed to RKO Langston. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, it was a tag match involving Bryan and/or the Shield, so you know it was good!
Langston took the place of the Miz in the main event after events earlier in the night. Miz did guest commentary for the Usos vs. the Wyatt Family, only to interfere and attack Bray Wyatt, causing Rowan to chase Miz backstage and leaving Harper alone in the ring, to fall prey to a double superkick for the Usos win. The Wyatts had the last laugh, though, catching Miz backstage at some point, chaining him to a wall and destroying him, leaving the word 'LIAR' written on his stomach.
In other matches, Los Matadores beat Heath Slater and Drew McIntyre via a new double-team finisher, a Downward Spiral/Bulldog combo. They'll face the Real Americans on Sunday! AJ beat Nikki Bella with the Black Widow, after Tamina disposed of Brie on the outside. The Great Khali and Fandango went to no contest when Natalya and Mrs. Fandango started fighting and it spilled over into the ring.
The opening segment was a sitdown interview with Michael Cole and Triple H, where Triple H bragged about firing the crew members who'd allowed Big Show to get his satellite feed on Raw, before saying that with Big Show filing a lawsuit he was now unable to comment further on his situation. They talked a bit about Cena's return before moving on to the WWE Title match, and partway through that discussion the feed cut abruptly to commercial mid-sentence by Triple H. I'm assuming American viewers might have seen more?
But yeah. Bryan stands tall at the end of the show. Adjust your PPV predictions accordingly!
Paul Heyman and The Ryback had a no-DQ handicap match against the fearsome CM Skunk, a random indy wrestler who maybe someone else will identify who was dressed in Punk gear but had a white stripe down the middle of his hair. Heyman laid waste to him with a singapore cane, The Ryback hit the Shellshocked, then Heyman got the pin, before they promised that Punk would face the same fate at Hell in a Cell, with Heyman proving that he would still be Best in the World.
Technically I also forgot the WWEShop promo done by R-Truth, where Santino Marella interrupted to perform his own sales pitch. That, maybe, is less important than CM Skunk was!

But it did provide an allegedly exclusive discount code for the online store which is not a bad way to get people to watch. Or at least follow on Twitter.

Saying that Jericho was trapped in the same spot in both WCW and WWE is ridiculous. In WCW, Jericho was lumbered with putting over talentless hasbeens/never-we'res like Konnan and Bobby Duncum Jr. (RIP).
