For those of you not familiar with these guys....

Seth Skyfire was a great cruiserweight who feuded also with bigger wrestlers. He just lost the tv title to Bad Kompany and previously feuded with Charles Evans and Idol Stevens

Jack Bull is a comedy act that kind of rips off Super Dave Osborne with Steve Austin ex: Jack Bull comes to the ring drunk claiming he is gonna do all this crazy stuff but is too drunk, hilarity ensues. He just had a mini feud with Joey Mercury.

Ryan Silverback Reeves is in a tag team with John Bolen called "High Dosage" they just feuded with Bad Kompany. Kinda surprising release considering Reeves is HUGE and definitely has the look.

Jack Bull? . . . NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! He has been the BEST thing on OVW the last few months, hell he was the best thing on OVW last year as far as I was concerned!

Sucks about the Bashams too. They were AWESOME in their feud in OVW circa 2001. Doug Basham was a great heel and stable leader. He will be missed (by me anyway).

It is a good rule in life never to apologize. The right sort of people do not want apologies, and the wrong sort take a mean advantage of them.

Add Bill Demott to that list. Now there's no head trainer in Deep South?

From the OVW side of things:

Rumor was that Skyfire had plans to retire and move back home a couple of years ago only for WWE to sign him up. OVW had always stood behind the guy and he had a good little feud with CM Punk last year right before Punk left to go to ECW. Skyfire had at least a couple of matches as a jobber on RAW and Smackdown, if I remember correctly. I always enjoyed his matches. Shame there.

Jack Bull is great and I'm sorry that they've given up on his whole drunken stuntman gimmick. Moreso, where does this leave Sosay? Another darn shame.

Reeves was doing okay in High Dosage with Jon Bolen, but wasn't exactly setting the world on fire in OVW either. I can understand this one, especially after he failed a drug-test in 2006.

What the hell? That blows!

Maybe they're going to put Al Snow in DSW now.

Well, the DSW grads haven't exactly been lighting the world on fire. Plus, Demott was always a waste of space, horrible announcer, bad wrestler, bad gimmicks.

Doesn't mean he's a bad trainer.

With the growing-by-the-day number of talent being released, and the Royal Rumble only a week away... I'm half-inclined to wonder if this is to compensate for a big money signing. Bob Sapp and Brock Lesnar would be my 1st and 2nd guesses, since I'm not aware of too many other free agents who are capable of making a splash. Jericho is super skinny these days.

Something specific has definitely spurred this round of cuts. Meanwhile, Val Venis, Funaki, and Scotty 2 Hotty clearly all still have mountains of compromising photos in their respective possessions...

All three of those guys, along with Steven Richards have a role that they do very well. When they want to bring a guy along slowly, or have him work the house show circuit to try and smooth out the rough spots in their work, you go to a proven vet. None of them will ever be big stars again, but they give WWE a few guys who they know are safe, dependable, solid hands who will do whatever they are asked and can work with anyone who needs some work on their game. They may not good for tv main events, but they all will draw pops and entertain on the house shows while being valuable teachers to have around.

Tatanka has been added. (or subtracted if you like)

Three oinkers wearing pants, a plate of hot air, a basket of grandma's breakfast and change a bull to a gill, got it.

Aside from a decent (yet watered down rap) from Cena and letting Shelton Benjamin shine tonight, nothing too noteworthy on Smackdown. I did notice, however, Charlie Haas's tribute to his late brother Russ on his wrist tape. That was really sweet.
