WWE could've had a pretty decent mid-card feud with Helms and Rosey after their long-running tag team broke up. Didn't they re-sign Jamal a month or two ago too? That makes this release a little stranger.

Yes, they did. And yes, it does. I feel bad for saying it, but the initial reaction I had to reading the news was "...and not Jamal?" I was under the impression that the sole reason for Jamal being brought back in the first place was to re-unite him and Rosey as a team.
Shame to see him go though, as the tag team he had with Helms always had potential (that was squandered), and he seemed to improve quite a bit from the "Three Minute Warning" days. Ah well.

First they hired Jamal, then Hurricane and Rosey broke up, then they "fired" Bischoff. I thought for sure that at any moment Rosey and Jamal were gonna come out and attack Big Show/Kane to set up a WrestleMania match. Then it got closer and closer to WM with no match, and then Carlito/Masters get the title shot out of the blue, and now Rosey is released.
This is the biggest tag team non-reunion anti-climax since Test & Albert didn't rejoin Trish as she and Christian's backup in April 2004. What's not next, Matt Hardy and Shannon Moore?
Well, so much for the rumored reunion between Rosey and Jamal (if he re-signed with the WWE), or with Bischoff's return and the reformation of Three-Minute Warning.
I'd mark for Bischoff screaming "Three minutes!"

..interesting.
I can't imagine he was taking drugs to make him bigger.
If he did test positive for steroids the E's stance, according to Meltzer, is that he wouldn't be disciplined but would have to show at the very least lower levels of it in his system on his next test. Note that this is the case with performance-enhancing drugs, not recreational.
Regardless, I think the timing of his firing was more of a coincidence than anything else.

Can he be fired for the results, even if he was on recreational drugs? Maybe it was the "wellness" part of it, seeing as he is 400+ pounds and not exactly a seven-foot monster.

Boy, some people sure are quick to think the first guy let go after the drug testing was for that. I'm pretty certain it's not- he was let go on Tuesday, and the testing was done Monday. I'm sure it takes a few days AT LEAST to process all the tests. And like Deputy Marshall said, I'm pretty sure WWE's stance is that the first test is a baseline test and you couldn't be penalized for it. Even if you were, the result of the first offense ISN'T being let go.
Plus, it's not like he's a mid-carder wrestling every other week- he hasn't been on TV in a month or so. I hope we don't have to assume "drug test failed" is the reason whenever someone gets released from now on.

So suddenly Schneider got canal 52MX on his cable. And well there is no EMLL thread icon on the W but ability to see new lucha libre on TV every week means more wrestling write ups. Hopefully there are other folks at the W who have access to CANAL 52MX.
