YES! YES! YES! Was good to see Daniel Bryan again, even if it was in a non-competitive capacity.

The Kane segments were kinda goofy and almost made me feel sorry for the guy, especially with his bitchy manager (though if he's 'Director of Concessions', shouldn't he be HER boss?), and having to participate in one of three awful segments with Larry the Cable Shit.

Speaking of, did they really need to give that worthless bag of lard THREE segments? Guest announcer, guest commentator, and backstage antics with Kane? I skipped two out of three and kinda wanted to skip the concession stand one, but Santino convinced me to stick around for the backstage bit. Poor Santino.

Kinda an underwhelming RAW to be honest, which was a disappointment after Survivor Series' awesome main event, and they just HAD to have one last interminable rant from the Authority to start things off, didn't they? Hopefully they'll be off the screen for at least awhile, but who knows with that horrific 'You've got mail' sound. So they're resurrecting the Anonymous Raw GM gimmick, eh? Someone call Wrestlecrap ...

Also kinda annoyed they didn't give Ziggler any solo interview time, instead having him cut a promo along with Cena, so Cena could continually steal the spotlight. I hate that Sting's getting most of the credit for the Team Cena win last night, when Ziggler really did do it all himself ... all Sting did was cancel out HHH's interference.

Ah, well. Should have expected as much, WWE is all but incapable of putting on two good shows in a row. What'd everyone else think?

I forgot to mention that my most entertaining moment of the night actually came from one of the New Day vignettes, namely the fact that Big E can't dance, lol. Next week they make their premiere, and while I'm sure they're probably going to be a heel stable, I for one can't wait to see where they go with this. Let's hope they don't fuck it up (which they probably will ... damn the WWE has made its fans cynical, haven't they?)

WWE had quite a bit of momentum coming out of Survivor Series last night and they managed to spunk it up the wall in spectacular fashion.

Bryan getting in Mr and Mrs H's faces with the Yes! chant was brilliant.

Brie and Nikki Bella seemingly making up with no explanation whatsoever was not brilliant. Neither was AJ Punk's mic work tonight. A rare off night or has she started to check out?

Big Show. It may be a little known WWE bylaw that there must be at least one Big Show and/or Kane switch per calendar year, but I liked his work tonight.

Lawler: "This has been one of the best Raws ever!"
JBL: "It's been one of the worst ever for me..."

I hear you, John.

If by started to check out you mean when she returned. I haven't liked AJ at all since her return. Plucky underdog face AJ was great, so was crazy heel, but snarky CM Punk wannabe has always been pretty terrible in my opinion. I also think that Paige was hurt by the feud with AJ (granted the booking wasn't good either).

I don't wish to ever see Larry the Cable Guy again, but he did have one of the best lines of the night when he said. "Jingle All The Way 2 picks up right where the first movie ended...on the DVD aisle."

Actually, the funny thing is that Cena's just about the only guy last night who came out, reminded everyone that he got eliminated mid-match, and that Ziggler basically won that thing single-handed. Cena was the only guy working to put Ziggler over. Even Ziggler himself kind of brushed it off. It's almost like the company realized it had made Ziggler the single toughest, most important guy in the company, and then went, "No, that can't be right. We must have meant Sting."

I was also thinking about the Bella's thing, and while the no-explanation turn kind of sucks, at the end of the day it comes down to the one thing we know about the Bellas for sure: they are terrible. If they're not a single unit with the twin gimmick, what are they? Two terrible wrestlers. So as much as I also would have preferred some kind of explanation, this was really just fixing a move that was ill-advised in the first place.

First Raw I had full attention to in a while and I loved it - though, admittedly, I did skip over the Larry the Cable Guy stuff (thank you delayed DVR viewing) since I can't stand the homophobic idiot. Also, sorry Adam Rose but I had to skip over you too since they decided to put Larry on commentary *ugh*.

Loved Daniel Bryan and all the matches he made and even chuckled at the anonymous GM thing (obviously it's just a one time thing for next week but they were all having fun with it at least). It was pretty funny seeing Michael Cole's pro-Daniel Bryan side and his pro-GM "may I have your attention please" side.

Also, off topic, but calling that horrible movie a sequel to Jingle all the Way is an abomination. To quote Sinbad, "This is a sick world we're living in".

Bryan coming out to end the Authority was the nice icing on the cake. It would be nice if it was a blu ray feature. There was no need for Bryan to cut another 20 minute promo after Steph and HHH did. Actually, they should have had HHH get the mic and then Bryan interrupts him, so we save about 10 minutes of our lives.

The rest of the show as kinda there. Ambrose needs to dominate a feud he is in. I am also disappointed not much was said about Ziggler being the man last night. Yes, you have to talk about Sting, but Dolph should have gotten more love. There was no need for that main event to go that long.

The Anonymous GM, Christ. Just when I thought about going to the Rumble. Time to cancel the Network now.

I logged into my old WWE network account at 9:10 Sunday night to watch SS just in time to see Henry get taken out. I watched the rest of the match and was blown away. Before going to bed, I told my wife: "I just watched one of the most important things happen in WWE in a long time!" and went to bed with a smile on my face. Last night going to bed? Complete opposite. The whole Authority thing blahblahblah. Just get out. Even tho I LOVED Dbry coming down and geting in their faces, why the bloodly blue hell were they the only ones? As much as I would have loathed it, why not Cena? Ziggler SHOULD have been down there, but we all know there's no way HHH would allow him to get the upper hand, even tho he actually had 24 hours before that.
The rest of the night was just wtf. Why did the rest of the roster not come out and throw Rusev back intot he ring when he didn't recit the Pledge Of Allegiance? I thought that's what the stip was? Lame. Lame. Lame. Slaughter was fun, but still, BS.
Bellas/AJ? Who cares. I WAS surprised that she got hte belt cuz I thought it was an edict a while ago that none of the Total Divas was allowed to have the belt because of the dealy in taping. Oh well, that what you get for being Mrs. Cena.
Rose/Bunny? I don't care any more.
Concessions Kane? Lame. Where was pushy boss lady when Kane squirted mustard on Santino? Fire his ass!
Speaking of Santino, I'm going to go with Larry deflating his return, because I remember people going apeshit whenever Santino's music started. Last night? Eh. I did laugh when larry took the hotdog, rubbed some mustard off of Santino's shirt and took a bite. I'd do that.
And that main event. I LOVE J&J in their roles, and they can still go in the ring, but Cena had his smirk on the entire time. Fuck that. Rollins was nowhere near the ring at the end.
You were right, Authority. I want nothing to do with this product. Not that it has to do with you being gone. It's just all crap. Thank God I didn't pay for SS. Thank YOU for that.

You're going to cancel the Network and skip the Rumble because they're bringing back a dumb gimmick for one week?

A weak follow-up to the PPV, but nowhere near as bad as it's being made out to be. I liked Big Show trying to reason with the crowd, and I liked Rowan being the one to respond. Wyatt came across as a big-deal heel at the end of the Ambrose/Harper match. And Bryan being the one to close the book on the Authority was just so perfect. There was rotten stuff - the Rusev segment and Kane selling hotdogs was worthless junk - but overall, an okay show.

Yea this was just bad writing. It reminded me of a later-part-of-the-show SNL skit. They had the intro and a decent middle, but then they skipped trying to come up with an ending and just left it. I kept waiting for Rusev to throw the mic down, say "SCREW THIS!" and just challenge (and then defeat) everyone in that battle royal. Instead we get one more lesson not to care about what the WWE tells us to care about.

They had to drop that edict because the only people who could be Divas champ would be Emma and AJ back and forth forever.

No, I'm canceling the Network after getting it free for two days. Also, I don't mind the Anonymous GM gimmick as they said it's only for Cyber Monday, which makes sense.

Wait, where did that come from? It makes sense?

This is a show that probably looked way better on paper. We are entering the Holiday throwaway zone pretty soon as well as coming off a PPV with a hot ending so this show was a wasted opportunity.

Overall I thought the show was poor. You see all the parts and pieces to make a competent product and they just can't seem to put it together. Being a wrestling fan in the US is becoming a frustrating venture.

Ring of Honor and Lucha Underground are offering some fun weekly shows. This week's ROH main event between Hanson and Styles was good.

I missed the show in favor of news coverage, but it's a shame this show couldn't capture the magic of the annual Mania/RAW combo. The initial appearance of Bryan seemed designed to make that happen.

YES. But then, all he did was "YESYESYES". not even a "What goes around, comes around....." They couldn't even let him get a last word in. HHH had to do that with his "You WILL beg for us back!" crap. Not me.

I thought the whole Bryan Yesing the bosses out of the building was very Eric Young/ Dixie Carterish. Actually the following punishment segment also felt like a TNA segment.

I know they meant well, but Danial Bryan isn't very good at being a rah rah face.

I completely agree.

It's funny, right when the show was starting, I was thinking: "They're gonna make DBry GM!" (Honest.) By the time the whole match-making was done, all I could think of is: "No way is he gonna be GM." Man, his timing on the mic is horrible. I know it always was, but you would think with this time off he might spend it working on his mic skills. How about a mic-off between he and Cena when they have a date night, except do it in the comofort of their living room. Hell, its not that their gf's couldn't use it, either. VINCE! Daniel Bryan is a very good talker who's gotten comfortable with the WWE "perform in a heavily scripted mediocre high school play" style of interviews. Hard for anybody short of Cena to pull off the single babyface impresario routine with 5 different gags. I give him credit for learning all his lines in one afternoon.

The anonymous GM is surely a one-week gag (haha Cyber Monday) but I feel like it's barely even money that they'll acknowledge that Hornswoggle was lying about being the GM or something. They injured Jack Swagger for Survivor Series and then had him win a match for Survivor Series.

I'm loving the era of Dolph as a top, let alone pushed, babyface for as long as it will last. Strange tides with Rollins as the lone main event heel and seeming only PPV opponent for John Cena (after he shrugged off Big Show), Ziggler (IC rematch?), Orton (held out for another month?), and Reigns (not returning til the Christmas house shown tour?). Cena needs someone to AA in preparation for Lesnar but Ziggler and Rollins would have the best ladder match.

Also madness, Meltzer says they were indeed building to Ryback/HHH for a week before Ryback couldn't be carried by Cesaro. Now says Sting/HHH is the Mania direction since Rock took a movie in the spring, while PWinsider maintains it's Sting/Taker despite the angle.

Y'know, I can accuse the WWE (F) of many things, but that tribute to Davey Boy Smith was very, very well done. From the voiceover by Vince, to the heart-felt sentiment accompanying the vintage clips, the Fed hit my soft spot.
