That was... not the sort of show to put on if the stories about cancelled subscriptions are anything to go by...
Wow, so screw ambiguity or the 'we'll never know' angle we got last night. Nope, it's clear that Cena had Brock Lesnar beat (even though he actually got his shoulder up before the 3 would've come down) & that he is the one to beat the one, well at least according to Cole & Lawler's uber obnoxious spoon-fed lines from Vince (note how JBL, even as the heel announcer, offered no arguments here) So, pray tell, why should we care if someone else does it at Wrestle Mania then?
I like that the focus was on Ambrose tonight, but Cena can just stay the hell away from him.
Cena has the uncanny ability to get next to whoever the crowd shows positive reactions to. I wonder how that comes about. He's the older sister who used to be the attractive one but is now always insecure whenever anyone compliments the younger sister. He's the new Poochie. Ambrose, with the exception of Heyman, is by far the best thing about Raw and wwe in general.
I have yet to see a good Natalya match. I miss her farting.
Cole and King were insufferable re: Cena beating Brock. Although at the PPV, JBL at least tried to get Brock over as superhuman because of the AA's and STF's he took. Too bad he didn't continue with those claims. It's not real to me, dammit, but if Brock ever taps to that shitty STF I will wash my hands of the whole product. I'm not even an MMA Lesnar fan but that would go so far beyond the realm of believability that it would be too much. The fact that they play it up as a possibility is insulting.
I give Steph credit for the line of the night- “Have we ever thrown someone out that didn't come back?”
I love when they give little acknowledgments to their own silliness, like Punk pre-emptively flipping the table at a contract signing, because "it always happens".
I'm having lots of fun watching Sandow during Miz matches. He really does mimic everything Miz does. Sandow really tries at whatever crap they ask him to do and I hope he's rewarded down the road.
John Cena is a parasite. He sucks the life out of anyone who gets close to him. I am still shocked Daniel Bryan was able to stand next to him at times and have the ability to walk. Yet, he probably caused Bryan's body to fail to cause the injury. He is the walking KOD for any wrestler on the roster.
My biggest problem is Ambrose waiting under the box until someone lifted it. Forget how he got there (that's a whole other question), but why the hell would he just sit there throughout the whole match when Rollins was within easy striking distance?

Did AJ Lee really sell that ass to ass "move" by Nikki Bella?

Randy Orton carried that match. I'm happy to be wrong about him. Again.
Since 2012, three guys had a fourth IC title: Christan, Kofi, Wade, and Ziggler. Only four men have had more reigns: RVD, Jericho, Jarrett, and Edge. I'm glad to see Ziggler as champ again so soon, and I hope he can hold it until Wade comes back for what should be a good feud.
That ending spot for AJ and Nikki took a long time to come together. I wonder if Nikki hurt herself on the turnbuckle.
Since the Legacy ended, Cody has been pitch perfect in every angle.
Does that closet have Ambrose-size air ducts?

I don't mind that the story went in the direction of "Cena had Brock beat before Rollins cashed in," because that was it's natural during a long heel run to set up the "It could have ended here, but tragedy struck." They did it with Yokozuna-Savage back in the day, as well as going as far as Vader lose the WCW World Title for quick stints back in 1992/1993. It happens with every mega-heel run and it's boring if the mega-heel is completely invulnerable. You need some drama.
But I also didn't need the announcers to beat it into my head and make sure I couldn't use my own imagination.
Ambrose is awesome. Ambrose is RAW. Ambrose is life. I don't like pairing him up with Cena at all, but I'm guessing it was supposed to be Ambrose and Reigns hanging out and this is possibly injury related. Ambrose seems smart enough to where this won't hurt him, but I don't like that Cena is trying to get the rub again from the new coolest guy on the roster.
Ziggler winning the title back is a relief. I actually am starting to like the Miz/Mizdown pairing, but Ziggler really should have that belt for longer than a month (even though now technically it's 24 hours). Hope he lasts through the SmackDown taping tonight.
And I agree, Cody is perfect in every role they ever gave him.
I thought for sure that the "surprise" for Orton was going to be Kane and Rollins attacking HIM (as directed by HHH) for all his bitching and moaning. Just the way the interaction went made me think that's the way they were going -- especially with the injury to Reigns and a lack of top faces.
I fast forwarded through a lot of the show so I missed the overkill on the "Cena had him BEAT" thing. But I imagine/hope that Paul Heyman will have a good enough response to that to quiet things down a bit.
A little surprised that they're extending the Usos-Dust feud, but I guess they need to tread water until The Ascension is done with their NXT feud. Is there another face tag team they could have faced? I'm blanking on one, but I'm not thinking well today.
I agree that Cody is always great. I really wish he would get a Title run instead of pushing all these newer guys that aren't ready. Maybe they don't see Cody as a World Title holder but he and Goldust did get some incredible reactions when they were going for the tag gold against the Shield. I think you could build him as a singles underdog anti-Authority guy just as easily.

They've been pushing Show/Henry lately but Henry was already jobbing to Rusev tonight. Los Matadores maybe? The tag division needs more faces ...
I liked the expected and necessary job to get Ambrose up and running as the #2 babyface. His status as the replacement CM Punk is official but I wasn't expecting him to also be the new Undertaker. "Dean, how did you get out of there and in there?" "To get a pop." Got it. I await the Dr Unlikely science/magic/steampunk explanation for that one.
Very strange to see Randy Orton as a setup stooge for top heel Seth Rollins.
I'm never going to turn down Ziggler not losing, but it's a shame to only get one segment out of Sandow's IC belt. Nothing in the last two days with them makes sense. Because why wouldn't you have FL-GA interfere to lead to a face win? Ah who cares.
If Brie loses the Bella name will she become G.I. Brie?

As do I.
My visit in Dubai has been interesting in many ways, but watching OSN and how they deal with Wrestling is interesting. Raw itself was just fine for me - I am a Cena mark of course, so little he does bothers me, and I am enjoying the Ambrose thing. But the OSN coverage was more interesting.
First, they ran Raw live (so it was on from like 4-7 AM here, and then repeated it last night. On the live feed, they didn't run commercials (it's a pay station) so they ran promos and SlamCity segments - including the ones with CM Punk and Santino Marella. They also promo wrestling in the same breath and level and high level Futbal and Cricket and Rugby. It is one of their cornerstones.
after the repeat (commercials cut out, just promos in between segments), they ran a half hour straight of Slamcity.
They are all about the Kafaybe here, I guess. Wrestling's not dead in the Saudi Arabian Peninsula anyway.
