I really hope a second MITB match is announced so there's the chance to elevate someone like Cody who hasn't already held a big belt. Everyone announced last night has been champ.

I assume the second match will be announced on SmackDown. Since that match cannot match the star power of the first one, their best best is probably to market it as the first opportunity for guys who haven't held the world title. They can probably open the show with that, and help build intrigue as the Ziggler/Del Rio title match happens later.

Considering guys who are available, I'd put Barrett, Sandow, Rhodes, Cesaro, Fandango, and the Shield in the match. The problem is that they're all heels, though, so you might have to replace the Rhodes Scholars with guys like R-Truth or Tyson Kidd (if he's still with the company).

The other way to go is to dump the no-previous-World-Title-Reign clause and add Miz and Axel to replace Rollins and Reigns. While this gives a lesser storyline in my opinion, it might give the match better balance. The Shield can then defend their tag titles against the newly crowned #1 contenders, the Usos.

Didn't they do this once before for a gimmick match, where one of them you had to be a former champ to participate?

Tyson Kidd is still with the company. The plan is apparently to air his wedding to Natalya on that new TV show.

Solid episode overall, with MITB shaping up to be a great PPV.

It just occurred to me that since the PPV is in Philly, you can definitely have an all-heel MITB since the smark crowd will be cheering for half those guys anyway.

He's on the injured list too. Remember last year's quasi-push for him at MITB? "Bank on the Kidd!"

Ah, also looking back at the 2012 matches, the SD! match that Ziggler won had 8 wrestlers (including Tensai and Santino!) but the RAW match that Cena won only had five (Cena, Kane, Jericho, Big Show & Miz). Was that the one that you needed to be a former champ to enter?

Did anyone notice the little kid that passed out when one of the Bellas looked at him as they were passing out WWE swag? His sister just looks at him slump and goes back to watching the show.

AJ should never take the Kaitlyn suit off. She should wear it 24/7 like Homer Simpson when he was the Safety Salamander. And then gradually, AJ should start believing she actually is Kaitlyn, admiring her huge man arms and her two tone hair in the mirror. And little by little, she should start to believe that Big E. does love Kait-J, especially after one dip too many. This would culminate in a WWE Divas Championship Winner Gets To Be Kaitlyn and Have Big E. In A Stylin' Shirt Dip Her Forever Match at Summerslam.

It HAS to be a Stylin' Shirt on a Pole Match. Or better yet, a Big E on a Pole Match.

The AJ/Kaitlyn segment was one of the funniest things I've seen in ages. Kaitlyn losing a gasket was hilarious.

Jericho plays the smirky wiseass like no other.

Asking Ryback ("Mr. Back") if he was a cannibal after his intense, "I'm going to eat you alive!". Loved it.

that's exactly the idea.

Dean Ambrose, Wade Barrett, Jack Swagger, Antonio Cesaro, Damien Sandow, Cody Rhodes, and Fandango. Last babyface standing Miz will wrestle Axel for the IC title.

Didn't notice until just now that the WWE match is all babyfaces, so pretty sneaky, sis. Loving the new crowd-beating booking of the last two PPVs. So I'd have to guess that the "faces" in this match will be Ambrose, Cesaro, and Sandow. Since cheering for Fandango is already a thing, he goes all the way back around to being a heel.

I saw a comment on one of the spoiler sites that was interesting as well.

The faces-only MITB match is for the title currently worn by uber-face John Cena, while the heels-only MITB match is for the title worn by new heel Alberto del Rio. Odd.

Oh, and I don't think it's a spoiler to say that there are only seven names announced for the other MITB match as well. Not sure if they'll add an eighth to each or stick to seven.

In that lineup I'd still replace Swagger (push has petered out) and Rhodes (has been a glorified jobber) with the other members of the Shield. I don't think anyone seriously expects the Usos to challenge the Shield in any meaningful way, so their tag title match can wait till Raw. You then get to finish the MitB in a powerful visual - Reigns and Rollins patrolling the ring, disposing of others as Ambrose climbs to retrieve the briefcase. The story of the match would be that the non-Shield wrestlers team up against the Shield out of necessity (bickering amongst themselves when the Shield is laid out), while the Shield work as an absolute unit.

Doesn't make a lot of sense to add an eighth to either match, actually. It's not like the number of participants in the MitB is set in stone or anything. Plus the WWE-title match is so star-studded that there are very few (if any) available names who could justifiably join that match and not drag its star quality down. The other match, you could add people to - some names have been thrown around - but for symmetry's sake, I feel they might go with seven.

Reigns and Rollins can still theoretically do the tag match with the Usos and patrol the MITB match on behalf of Ambrose to counter the Rhodes Scholars and Cesaro/Swagger alliance. Barrett is the odd man out - fitting punishment for a guy who made his mark mastering the Damned Numbers Game - which sets him up to play the nominal face against the field, though I don't think their terrible booking of him will give the crowd much incentive to buy into that, unfortunately.

I wish they'd held off on putting Cesaro with Zeb and Swagger and let him come into this as the odd man out, since I think he'd have the best chance of winning the crowd over on merit alone. I guess they can still have Zeb and Swagger turf him out mid-match in an effort to get Swagger the briefcase. My booking for this match would be simple: Cesaro uppercuts everyone who falls off the ladder for 20 minutes, then debuts the UFO by doing it to the ladder, wiping everyone out Jackie Chan style with a ladder spinning around his head and shoulders. Also, there would be a brief segment of Barrett and Cesaro on top of the ladder trading elbows vs. uppercuts while everyone else sits around and watches, several spots of both Cody and Sandow refusing to climb the ladder without their best friend by their side on a second ladder, Reigns spearing one of the ladders through the timekeeper's wall to make sure nobody can beat Ambrose and also Jack Swagger not being in the match or ever showing up again.
