It looks like the deal went through and Vince has picked up WCCW and also Smokey Mountain (SMW?) tapes for his video collection. The article also says they will debut a "Classics" television show this summer.

I'm not sure if there are any other tape libraries that WWE needs. Perhaps Global Wrestling Federation from the late '90's or a something from the Portland, Oregon area. I'm looking forward to that new show they talk about.

Wow ... 75,000 hours of footage. That's freaking insane.

So much good stuff in that World Class footage. It's only a matter of time before we get the Ultimate Steve Austin Collection.

The only two missing seem to be the old Mid South (pre UWF era) and Southwest Championship Wrestling. Either way, the CLASSICS show would rule.

I don't think acquiring World Class will have any impact on an Austin DVD. By the time Austin debuted, World Class had technically folded and had been swallowed up by the USWA/Memphis. Might have a little Cactus Jack from his time as a soldier in Skandar Akbar's Army though. Even without Austin, still tons of gold is in the World Class video vault.
Among those Vince hasn't acquired yet (not counting Mid South), the old St. Louis matches would be valuable, as would Poffo's old renegade ICW promotion.
Bring on the Classics show.
