I actually enjoyed watching this show but that was mostly cause it's something new, I think.
Was kind of thrown off by the fact that the Punk v. Sheamus match started only 10 minutes in.

They put on an entertaining match, with Punk walking away with a dirty victory.

Aside from that, there was also another match at the end of the hour in the Tag Team Tournament where Santino/Ryder beat Kidd/Gabriel.
Santino kind of going through the motions here but the rest impressed me; especially Tyson Kidd.

I gloss over the whole show on my eloquent wrestling publication too: http://www.secretlyheel.blogspot.com

It aired in the hour prior to the debate...well, probably not on the West Coast. I believe it's AFTER the debate on the West Coast.

I really enjoyed this show. Even the "get to know 'em" segments were pretty good - much different from the stuff we usually get from WWE, in a positive way.

The Champion vs. Champion match ended with as clean a pin as you could conceivably expect to get. I appreciate that some thought was put into making sure we didn't get another bogus DQ/DDQ/DCOR ending.

Tag match was there - tough to have four guys everybody generally likes fighting, but that's how the tag division is balance. Probably a good idea to throw it on this show.

By the way, by holding this tourney over all three shows, I think we can finally drop the pretense of a brand extension - oh, wait, you did that months ago. Well...carry on.

Actually Zed, I'm pretty sure for the longest while the tag titles were not brand specific. That's one of the ways they were able to have an excuse to get Jericho and/or Miz on both brands.

Looking at the ION schedule (iontelevision.com) I'm surprised they don't rerun the show at least once. They have constant marathons of procedural series.

I get what you are saying, but we have seen numerous WWE Champ vs. World Champ matches on Raw, and maybe the modern SNME over the years, usually involving even bigger names like Cena, Edge, etc.

I really liked the presentation of The Main Event's main event, even if it's presentation for something that needn't exist. Pre-match hype, post-match fallout, interviews, reactions. It stands out, which is funny because it's really how they should focus on all their big matches, a lot of which are treated as drive-thru fast food, instead of implementing a radical "make stuff seem important" strategy on the bonus show where they're trying to stretch 45 minutes out of one match.

I was disappointed to hear it confirmed on this show that Sheamus vs. Show was going to be in Hell in a Cell. I don't think they'd said one way or another yet, and I was hoping this would be the year they'd learned a lesson and would let Punk/Cena be a true Cell match instead of watering it down with a second HIAC, let alone one that's the first match in the program between two guys who've been feuding for a week.

Mmm. That's one of the problems with the theme PPVs. The TLC PPV's much the same. The main events (or sometimes, even all the matches) must be that particular stipulation.

At least with Elimination Chamber, they've wisely had it replace No Way Out, meaning that the winners of the Chamber matches will appear in WrestleMania main-events. (Or, you know, job in 18 seconds on the first match of the card.)

I'm surprised Vince doesn't move his programming to Daytime so he would be eligible for the Daytime Emmy Awards. Afterall, Vince only cares about Soap Operas now, so why not take the fight right to them.
