Beck is not the guy who should have nudged the WWE to break character, even if it was to insult him. Beck is a marginal figure these days with none of the clout he threw around a few years back. They played the ace when a 6 would have sufficed.

Now Beck has gotten a lot of free attention, which is all the political talkers want when they take up a pop culture topic. Granted, it may only a minority of the WWE audience who knows about Beck or the video response. But he's now got a lot of program filler for his show. His producers are happy, his callers have something new to talk up, and Colin Cowherd can roll his eyes some more.

And maybe Swagger is cowed by his DUI but he's just as deadwood when he drops character as when he's on.

Will we see a Ben Gleck character get squashed on RAW?

"Jack, get back into character."
*Jack makes same exact face he's been making the whole video*

Why would the WWE have to do anything to "keep the push" of anyone? They're the ones who decide who gets a push and who doesn't. If they cared what the fans thought about a push, the roster would look entirely different right now.

Jack did the actor's facewipe though, amazing.

This Glenn Beck thing might be Swagger's version of the JBL Nazi salute, where Vince feels persecuted and doubles down. Good for him, I guess. A push in WWE is so capricious that it's nice when the wind blows in someone's favor instead of against it (e.g. MVP, McIntyre, Bryan, Swagger, Morrison, Sheamus, All Wrestlers Ever).

Colter's logical antagonist would probably be Brad Maddow.

In the most CM Punk way possible, he absolutely is.

And can you blame the guy for being a little miffed? When Punk towed the kayfabe line with the Pipe Bomb promos, he never referred to himself as "Phil" or outright pointed out that it's a FAKE PRODUCT! Of course he's going to be annoyed and he has every right to be.

I was personally hoping for "Heath Schmolbermann," myself.

At this point in his "career," Keith Olbermann would probably PAY WWE - and WWE would fail to realise this and overpay him hilariously...then wonder why this failed to capture mainstream attention and big ratings.

Besides the Phil Brooks vs Paul Levesque promo.

Edit this please for the good of the site

What does this mean? I'm aware of Kroenke, but living on the other side of the Atlantic all he really is to me is the asshole who's standing silently at the head of my beloved Arsenal FC's board while it sinks like a stone.

He was the guy WWE spent nearly an entire Raw ripping because his arena had an NBA Playoff game featuring the Nuggets (the team Kroenke owns) and WWE Raw scheduled for the same night. Raw was forced to move and the Staples Center took them in. Vince had a Kroenke look-a-like there and belittled him, then had a big tag match at the end featuring the heels wearing Nuggets jerseys and the faces in Lakers jerseys (as they were in LA for the show).

So I would presume a "Stan Kroenke Raw" would feature a lot of time wasted on Glenn Beck and other media types who have commented on the Swagger/Colter story.

As someone on another board opined, this seems a bit hypocritical considering he used the same wand to truly launch (if not throughout) his career.

Considering he hates them and for a long period of time was his only fans, its a pretty weird relationship.

I can understand loathing as well as CM Punk catering to his internet fanbase. It reminds me of when Chris Jericho use to respond to fans on his old website (during the dark ages of dial-up internet *shudder*) and eventually the highly opinionated and entitled negativity of the few out-spoke the voices of the positive fans in Jericho's head, causing him to lash out after he had a KOR match against RVD that some smarks thought was "below caliber" for them.

Also was that extended Zeb Colter invite to Glenn Beck leaked? I know we are in the day and age of various kayfabe-breaking sources of information, but the fourth wall got evaporated in the extended version. I kinda liked it though. It made me want to go fishing with Zeb and talk about life and wrestling, while Swagger skips stones on the pond beside us.

This was a pretty good show, with something for everyone (even a Raw whores/Simon Dean segment for me to channel-surf through). The only weird bits came when the crowd booed the translator, and their tendency to sit on their hands.
