Since I've been reading everyone's speculation on the boards, and watching both brands week in and week out, I thought I'd lay out how we'll probably see the WWE brands in the New Year. Here goes:
Nitro. Yes, THE Nitro. Not WCW Nitro, though. Let Eric rename Raw to Nitro for it's 500th episode, complete with new titles(well, not totally new). Bring on the Nitro girls, led of course by Miss Stacy. Leave JR and King right where they are(well, whichever side of the ramp that they choose that week). And as for the roster, leave them the way they are. They're the perfect mix of ex-WCW wrestlers and WWE wrestlers. Except for the Hurricane, he can go back to Smackdown. Unless they plan on jumping Shannon Moore, which I doubt. *Anyhow*, you already have the "World" Heavyweight title and the World Tag Team Champions. Each week it becomes more Nitro-ish. And TripleH *is* the perfect linchpin for the new Nitro. You know what would really jumpstart the new Nitro? Bring in Steiner and have him feud with TripleH. Steiner's got a gimmick along the lines of Austin, and the crowd would actually respond to him. That and he actually likes wrestling, unlike Goldberg. This would be one of those cases where bringing someone in would be a good idea. Also, bring back either the US title or the World Television title as your midcard belt. Trade Trish, Molly, and any other women that can wrestle to Smackdown and put the Women's World title around Stacy's waist or someone similar. It can be defended in all the bra and panties matches they want. Give Torrie and Dawn Marie to the new Nitro, too. There ya go.
Smackdown. Smackdown can just keep on rolling and doing what it's doing. They've got the WWE Championship and the WWE Tag Team champions as of No Mercy. As detailed above, the new WWE women's division would be born on Smackdown, with Trish, Molly, Ivory, Jazz, and Victoria leading the way. Steph could bring back the IC belt, since it was the *WWE* IC title that got folded into Raw/Nitro's World title. That gives the midcard something to do(besides the tag belts). I'm not sure if they should keep the Cruiser title or not. Wait a minute, of course they should. But perhaps transplant that to the new Nitro as well. And bring back the Hardcore division on Smackdown. Or vice versa. Cruiser action would fit on either show, same with Hardcore matches. And most of the old Hardcore division is on Raw/Nitro anyway.
There you have it, my vision(and hopefully partially the WWE's) of the wrestling scene in the new year. Toss in the idea of giving the "off" month PPV's to Nitro, and you've got money all over.
hmm,not a bad idea, but I kind of like the lay out of things ta the moment. Yes,I forsee some Nitro thing but "World Title" bleh,I don't like the name,no offense, love the belt but it needs an affiliations really. Plus we have to set it up for the ending of the brand extension(if my fantasy booking is corrects is Wrestlemania, combine tag, world titles together, presto we Get RVD vs Eddie on Raw)
This is not the time to have a From The Vault TV show. Is there much business sense to show matches from a time when there was more crowd involvement then now? I watched the Bulldogs match and marveled at the crowd interest.
