1) Who of you already bought the HOF 2004-DVD? Any comments on it?

2) Vince Mc Mahon said Hulk Hogan could be a candidate for the HOF in 2005! Who would be your picks?

I´d say (in no particular order):

Hulk Hogan
Randy Savage
Bret Hart
Owen Hart
Bob Backlund
Mean Gene
British Bulldog
The Road Warriors/LOD
Terry Funk
Jake Roberts
Ted DiBiasi

Probably not (because there are still unsolved issues):
Bruno Sammartino
Roddy Piper
Ricky Steamboat

Probably too early (because they are still active):
Undertaker
Ric Flair

The DVD is fairly interesting - a worthwhile purchase if you're a fan from the era that the inductees wrestled. It's basically the entire ceremony - although I've heard some of the induction speeches were cut a bit.

It flows something like this - first there's a video look at the previous inductees - something like 30 seconds a wrestler, anything but an indepth look. Then "Mean Gene" Okerlund will introdue one of the night's inductees and you'll get a three or four minute video full of career highlights. When you come back from it, one of the wrestlers will be making the induction speech - followed by the full acceptance speeches. The entire DVD is worth the money for Bobby Heenan's speech - he's still got it. (Kane in a tuxedo may be another selling point, at least if you're as easily amused as I am.)

Plus there's about three hours worth of extra old-school matches - Ventura/Backlund, Graham/Sammartino, Santana/Valentine - and a series of Heenan/Monsoon bits from the old Prime Time Wrestling show.

If you're at all interested in it, you'll probably enjoy it.

The DVD is really interesting. The older matches and vignettes are cool, and the infamous Alley Fight between Pat Patterson and Sgt. Slaughter holds up pretty well today (including Sarge doing an Eddie Guerrero-like blade-job).

Of course, the entire price of the DVD is worth it JUST for Bobby Heenan's induction speech. He goes on for 20 minutes and has the entire room in stitches from beginning to end, including a hilarious diatribe on the World Wildlife Fund (I'm the weasel doing commentary with a GORILLA!). OlFuzzyBastard is correct: Bobby STILL has it!

The answer to WWE's financial problems...

Never 'Wiener of the Day', and is actually quite bitter about it.

That was my friend who said that.

HHH: And superstar could do more than drop a leg.
Zach: EVEN HOGAN CAN READ!
HHH: That hasn't been proven yet.

I was the guy at wrestlemania XX with the "USA" posters. I held up the "S". CHECK IT OUT!

It was during America The Beautiful. They show all the troops, first with Cena, then Torrie, and then they salute the flag. As they zoom in on the flag, it changes to the arena, where you see 3 guys holding the "USA" signs. I am letter "S".

BTW, my friend went to the Hall of Fame, but I went to the Bagels, Bacon, and Biceps brunch.

Hah. Sadly, that is cut off of the DVD.

Anyway, I did buy the DVD. It's pretty cool, especially after the disappointing WM20 DVD set. Heenan's 25 minutes are fucking hilarious and makes me wish he could get his voice back and go back to the booth to replace Tazz or Lawler, as unlikely as that is.

If Heat did more things like this and the DLo/Raven feud it could be the best WWE show out there. There really is no reason to have the show be 20-30 minutes of recapping when you could be having midcard maddness.
