Can you imagine the future - telling people you're a "WWE" fan? Sound likes you greatly enjoy that dancing squirrel flash movie (although wrestling *is* a lot about gonads and strife.)

Hey, "WWE" representatives - yeah, you, and don't pretend that you don't read these boards -

If the panda junkies have gotten you down - WHY DON'T YOU GO BACK TO "WWWF"?

(It'd fit right in with Hulkamania limping wyld ...)

Ummm. It didn't freak me out; it just confused me. I see no "E" in the logo. It just looks like "WW" to me. Maybe I'm missing something. And besides, it's just the same logo minus the to lines darting out to the right to form an "F." Looks to me like they just took an eraser and got rid of the lines, and viola, the new logo is born.

Did the WWF...oops, WWE do any actual market testing to see what name most people would positively respond to? It doesn't seem like they did because WWE...World Wrestling Entertainment...is the stupidest damn name ever. I mean, god...Dubya Duyba Ef. It has a hard, strong ending. Now, we're all fans of Wweeeeeeeee?!

It's a sad, sad day.

The WWE name seems to be in full effect now. WWF.com moves to WWE.com, text that once said "WWF" on .com now says "WWE," and logos appear to be changed everywhere from wrestlemaniahistory.com to the now WWEDivas.com to the Judgment Day site. Adios, WWF...

Ok, that's just ridiculous. It sounds so wrong. Couldn't they have just callled themselves WWFE? What would have been the problem there? I still don't understand why they even signed an agreement with the World Wildlife Fund in the first place saying the wouldn't use the initails. And even if they can't use the initials, can't they still call themselves the World Wrestling Federation? Seriously, where's the crime in them refering to themselves, on air, as the WWF and just not use the initals in any official way, like websites names or on their shirts or whatever. Everyone is just gonna keep calling it the WWF and referring to themselves as WWF fans so why kid yourselves and create a brand new name?

From *ahem* WWE.com

BIRMINGHAM, England -- May 3, 2002 -- Joe E. Legend, formerly known as Just Joe in World Wrestling Entertainment, has been competing all over Europe for the last year and two months. He was in England on today, so he stopped by the Federation's live event at the NEC Arena to see some old friends.

Do they realize how STUPID that looks? Blah blah blah in World Wrestling Entertainment. And then in the next sentence calling it the Federation.

Did we as fans do something to that the chimps who run the dog and pony show feel the need to subject us to this crap?

I think I hate this more than life itself. I grew up with the "WWF" galblamit. This is borderline insanity. I would rather there be no company than for it to have some bastard-ass name. This is about 60 miles south of stupid. I think we should all send letters to the World Wildlife Fund telling them how we'll never support fascist panda-f*ckers like them ever again.

PS: I'm half-joking about the "panda-f*cking", but still peeved about this WWE business.

I can't really fault WWE here, as they are just trying to cover their asses, and do what they are told. I'm not too fond of the name, but I guess they are doing what they think is best. But I'm still confused as to why there is no "e" in the WWE logo. I guess they wanted to keep it very similar to the the WWF logo for name brand recognition, but they could have just added another line to make an "e" coming off the "w" instead of just erasing the lines.

Reading "WWE" all over their website is just downright WEIRD. This is defintiely the biggest change in wrestling since WCW went out of business. What's even weirder than the actual "e" replacing the "f" is that in order to remain gramitically correct you have to drop the "the" also. Otherwise you'll be like those morons that called it "the WCW." This will sure take some getting used to. I wonder if it will be bad for business.

I think it's all really hitting hard now, we all heard of this court battle, but I thought (and I'm guessing most here thought) it would just stay in court back and forth for a long long time untill the WWF(wrestling) gives some donation or something to the pandas to shut them up and we all go back to normal.

This is kind of sad, WWF is so ingrain in our sub-culture. When a boxer does something "disgraceful" who's going to scream "what is this the WWF"... When a hockey player takes his lumber and wraps it across a guys dome what's said "that might be acceptable in the WWF but not here" *sigh* WWF initials is such a fixture in violent, unacceptable part of our culture. It's sad to see it go

I look at this like the Leafs or the Yankees or the Celtics getting their name changed. It's just sad

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who is sad about this whole thing. And to think, Hulk Hogan will be remembered forever as the last "WWF Champion." What a shitty way to go out.

This is almost as much of a disgrace to wrestling fans as calling the Leafs the "Leaves" is to a hockey fan.

They must have decided to change to WWE pretty recently since they just had that undisputed title made a little while back. I wonder if they will get new belts made right away, or just keep the old logo on them.

They might as well burn all the goddamn belts, anything they meant to me is gone now. They should just start all over again (new title lineage, new titles, new everything) because nothing will ever be the same for me again. I think I'm taking this way too hard.

Who would have thought that in the span of less than a year, ECW, WCW, and the WWF would all be history?

Amazing.

I'm pretty sure the "E" is silent. Kind of weird, I know, but I'd rather hear it called "The World Wrestling Undisputed Championship" et cetera, than the "World Wrestling Entertainment blah blah blah."

Thanks for posting these. Man, I hope these type of shows aren't going to be the norm for the off-month brands. July could be a looong month of Raw TV. I'll hold off on getting excited about Angle's return until I see how well he's healed.
