| #1 Posted on 17.5.04 1538.11 | Instant Rating: 4.00 | With this exploitation of these over the top rediculous sets we see every RAW, SD, and Pay Per View... doesn't anyone miss the old whole in the wall entrance of the 2000 rumble in MSG? Or the old In Your House sets with the loooong run way? I think it would be very nice if WWE went for a more budget stage for an upcomming pay per view, it just has a more down to earth wrestling feel to it.
Another thing is I know there are tons of complaints over JR and King / Tazz and Cole (on a lesser level)... but after having a nice WWE nostailga DVD weekend you can't even appreciate how great Gorrilla and Vince really were. It changes the way the product came off, just so much more professional and enjoyable to watch. I wish WWE would do the same thing I did and just take a look back and realize that matches can actually be ruined due to horrid gimmick announcing, and can be made epic by incredible, climatic, memorable announcing.

You know, when they would have almost all they guys do a ten second promo before the Rumble.
It made the thing seem a lot more epic. | geemoney

You know the one, it's mostly base and they used to use it both when cages & cells lowered as well as when they showed one of the main event competitors (Stone Cold Steve Austin at WrestleMania XIV comes to mind specifically) pacing backstage just before the match.

What the hell is up with this slanted titantron and those two weird-ass lightning bolts or whatever the fuck on the sides? I liked the old "Attitude Era" set better with a plain rectangle tron and the WWF logo underneath. | Jay

That's why I marked out to an insane degree for the Royal Rumble 2001 art.

Held a crowd of a couple of hundred (or so it seemed), no pyro and no razzmatazz. IIRC, the main event was Flair v Perfect in a loser quits match. I would possibly wet myself and squeal like a little girl if they were to do that again. | ekedolphin

Wow, I'm really really really really really really really really really tired of you.
Start here (slashwrestling.com) and try to cure yourself of your ignorance. Try not to wet yourself. Come back in...oh, let's say a week.

We cant have the same RAW or Royal Rumble forever. Sure, nostalgia is nice- but then people complain about how the WWE is always doing the same predictable things, and maybe its all this nostalgic suff that keeps them at that level- they have to balance all their fans and at the same time -as I will tell you again- Always have innovation as their first priority; despite how badly thats going for them.

In the Florida Driver's Manual, under "Bad Driving Habits", the book lists distracting things a responsible driver should not do while driving. This list includes, "Reading" ...*sigh* ...I have given up.
