Looks like it could happen but I'm not holding my breath. I think he could bring a much needed spark to one of the rosters though.

Eh, I'd say Sting could have meant something a couple of years ago, but now that the young stars are becoming established, the last thing I think WWE needs is someone who's gonna ask for alot of money and a limited schedule.

The one thing I found interesting on that site was the other news story regarding TNA's America's Most Wanted allegedly asking advice about going to WWE once their TNA deal expires. That would be just another tag team WWE could breakup and push as singles competitors.

Are AMW as good as all the hype I've heard about them? I've never seen any TNA and don't plan to start anytime soon.

AMW's good. Not mind-blowingly great, but good enough to get some attention and draw a crowd. That's IF they're kept as a team. Otherwise, they're just two average-sized, average looking guys with an average moveset and middling charisma in the ring.

I'm a huge Sting fan, but I think the time for him to come into the WWE has passed. If they were to have done that, they should have done it 3 years ago just like they should've brought in all the other big name players during the so-called Invasion which they were unable to deliver. Sting's getting older, and he's not as spry as he used to be.

Though WWE should release a Sting DVD like yesterday!

on a limited basis, sure.
Sting is a legend, in a sense, and it'd be nice to for him to have some connection with wrestling, even if he's just brought it to get guys over.
I mean, I could see him being a mystery partner with Orton againt HHH and Flair.

I'd love to see Sting in a very limited role just to see it. He's the one guy who has never been there, more of a novelty thing. You can shelve this rumour right along Bischoff turning Raw into Nitro, a new NWO, and ECW on Saturday nights, though, as a rumour that keeps resurfacing whether warranted or not. I will believe it when I see it with my own two eyes.

AMW could really do something in WWE. If they kept them together as a team and decided to push them as a team, they could have an impact. The NAO had a good thing going and were able to get over as a team greater than the sum of it's parts. The Dudleyz did the same before they got overly stale. AMW could conceivably lead a rebirth of an actual tag team division if pushed to do so, but I don't think that's high enough of a priority for WWE right now for it to actually work out.

It's a shame too. WWE has all the raw material to make a great tag team division. All you need is the guys to make teams out of, the tv time to show them off and the willingness to put SOME energy into promoting a tag division.

They already have a shitload of mid-carders with nothing to do. Start randomly teaming guys together, keep what works, toss what doesn't. For GOD's sake don't fuck up again like they did with Kidman and London. Shit, those two had a good look, the crowd dug them and they could work their ASSES off. And WWE just threw it away for no reason.

It could work. I mean, everyone I know likes tag teams, the crowd seems to have a good reaction to them when they show up, and everytime I introduce a strong tag team division on EWR, money rolls in (feel free to disregard that last example...)

I think the WWE will pretty much have to beg Sting to come in- he seems to be pretty happy being out of wrestling. But maybe one short run in the only company left from the Monday Night War Era will convince him to come back. Or he could see what's happened to former WCW guys that have come in (Steiner, Goldberg, Flair) and decline. And will he demand his good buddy Luger be brought in too?

What I find funniest is the ad at the bottom- "Sting's WM22 opponent confirmed!" If you click on it, you DESERVE whatever comes out the other end.

I heard Sting on the radio and he actually seems like he wants to do it. He even blamed "their guy", as in, WWE's attourney as the reason it hasn't happened. He said, the main rumour about his asking price being a stumbling block was completely untrue, and he specifically said he "never asked for Austin money, or Rocky money". He said what he was asking was very fair, although if Rey Mysterio has a $75, 000 downside it's worth pondering how much the definition of "fair" might vary from side to side. Still, I don't think it's money.

That said, I don't want to see it. Sting had very little to offer three years ago when they bought WCW out, in terms of producing in-ring. I can't imagine he'd be able to go out there and run a 30-minute bout with Angle or Guerrero now. And it kind of works that he was the only one who never came over. Just leave it at that, Vince gets what he wants often enough.

Wow, it's been at least six months since the last "Sting talking with WWE" rumor, no?

That said, I would want to see him as a one-time attraction. Start building him up in January for a WrestleMania match. Ideally, have him against Triple H or Ric Flair so you can play off of the rivalry he had with Flair.

Book it well so there's an interesting story there (new story, that is). Let him go over in the match and then... that's it. Don't keep him in a one-year contract where all kinds of complaints may be raised. Don't have him overstay his welcome like Hulk.... er, I mean, like Hogan did. That way, you have genuine interest in Sting as a "special attraction" which would hopefully equal decent buys for WrestleMania.

I guess they won't be goign to WWE anytime soon:
(Credit: PWInsider.com)

America's Most Wanted recently signed new deals, while the promotion has come to terms with Hector Garza as well. Jim Mitchell is expected to return shortly as the mouthpiece for Abyss as well, possibly at Victory Road. I think that's a great idea for a pairing.

...or for that matter, the WWE complaining that he doesnt' wrestle the "WWE style", and while it being a complete success, the fed considers it to be a failure?

Very likely.

I'd like to see Sting and Flair have one last feud. Besides that, there is no use for him.

edit - I'm surprised this thread lasted without one Police joke.

Personally, I like AMW. They work well in tags - nothing special, but better than the teams they've been throwing together in WWE lately.
They're also nice lookin', and would bring in alot of young (and not so young) female fans. They're bigger than the Hardyz, and don't resort to the "stuffin" that Orton has to.
There has to be some reason, I figure, that WWE wouldn't have picked them up. Maybe it's better they stay where they are now, for their own sakes too.

As far as Sting goes, I'd love to see him do a kind of limited feud for Ric Flair's retirement. Have 'em both go out with a good program, cause it's time for Ric to go and unfortunately, I don't know if there's anybody left for him to job to on Raw.

It's a shame they didn't do the DDP/UT stalker angle with them. Could have been good, provided they left the wife out of it.

With the return of Hector Garza, does this mean that Russo gets to bring out of hibernation his LiveWire 'Hector Garza will make everyone forget about Mysterio and Guerrero' comment from '96?

Isn't Sting the last big name from WCW that WWE has not yet signed? What about the Lex Luger comes along in any deal involving Sting? Is Sting Still holding to that?

If the Sting signing does come through, I hope he is placed on the Raw roster as a "special attraction" to feud with HHH over the title. That pushes Orton aside as HHH's arch-nemesis but his face turn feels forced and was done prematurely.

Yes, Sting is prime is behind him. But wrestling no longer requires hour long broadways anymore. The strength of his two-move repertoire of the Stinger Splash and Scorpion Death Lock will help any deficiencies be overlooked.

Bring Sting in as a man called Sting. Do not bring in WCW's Sting. Hot shot an angle where Evolution is reformed with Orton back in the fold and continue with Evolution's dominance of Raw. Have him reluctantly accept Shelton Benjamin's assistance and mentor Shelton Benjamin. A rub from Sting would mean a lot more for Benjamin than a rub from another established star. Sting has battled the Horsemen. He has battled the NWO. Now let him battle Evolution with the climax being a world title match with HHH.

Ed Powers should be a politician (or Sting's agent) as you sold me on Sting being brought back could be a decent idea... I'm a Sting supporter, I always thought he didn't get his due in the IWC and a couple of years ago I would have been really for Sting coming to The E. But it's been a few years since I saw him, and I guess it was out of sight, out of mind for me as my excitement to see him again has dwindled. But if they bring him back well it might spark my interest but WWE has to do something in their end to spark it as the String name alone isn't as much of an attraction for me as it was a few years ago.

smark/net attack wienerville advisory holds at ORANGE alert - High (JBL is STILL WWE champion and now smarks arch enemy HHH is the World Champion. Major red threat, but the undercard seems okay. The alert holds... for now)- 9/19

Unlike many other wrestlers, Sting is one that ages well and could be brought back for another headline run without it looking like a nostalgia trip.

He wasn't a garbage wrestler who has to take insane bumps nor is he a lucha style wrestler. Even at his age, Sting could still pull of his moveset without a huge dropoff from his peak years.

If he comes to the WWE, I imagine it would be as "crow" Sting. The "surfer" Sting, like Hulkamania and Macho Madness would be way too dated. "Crow" Sting would work. With Evolution's continued dominance, with all hope lost. There is one man who could topple Evolution's evil dynasty. THIS IS STING!!!

On a sidenote. If Luger is brought back, DO NOT put him on the RAW brand with Sting (Sting is a loner remember?). Put Luger on the Smackdown brand. His diminished name still has more value than most of the roster on Smackdown.
