Is this coming Monday's ladder match between the Undertaker & Jeff Hardy for the UNDISPUTED CHAMPIONSHIP the first ladder match for the WWE HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP ever?

If not, when was(were) the last one(s)?

I've been having this thought buzzing around in the back of my head, too. Not that I would expect Hardy to hold onto the belt more than a week at most, but I can see the Fed doing this in order to shake things up a bit and get some sort of buzz going.

Yeah this is starting to sound like a convincing argument for Hardy, but I've heard that the Fed is unhappy with his life outside the ring...and concerned too. Do you think that this would be the way that they would show that concern?

They might just do it for the "holy crap!" factor, but even if he does he won't hold it for more than a week. He might even drop it to someone on Smackdown.

This might be like the whole storyline they did last year when Jeff took the I-C title from Triple H on Raw only to lose it three nights later on Smackdown, where he was totally destroyed. If they don't have him win it, I don't really see the point in the match because Undertaker has destroyed him already. One more time isn't really necessary.

I really don't know who will win this match. There's one side of me that says that the WWE wants to give us a huge SWERVE (tm Vince Russo) and have Jeff Hardy win the title, possibly due to interference on the part of whoever UT's will face at Vengeance. But if that happens, we're just hotshotting the title around just when it was starting to get a sense of stability. Then again, unstable titles are also a Russo trademark, so I wouldn't be surprised.

The other possibility is YET ANOTHER Undertaker squash and what the hell is the point of that? We've already established that UT can squash any or both Hardyz at wiil. You can't tell me this is ELEVATING them! If Matt or Jeff put up a fight, then maybe you could make the case that they're plucky underdogs, but UT gives them almost NO offense!

Either way, I expect this to be a huge disappointment. I don't even think Undertaker can CLIMB a ladder anymore and I have a dreadful feeling that Undertaker will stink up this match so bad that it'll turn the fans off to any ladder match in the future. It can't POSSIBLY compare to the one RVD and Guerrero had a few weeks ago.

And before you tell me Undertaker can walk the ropes, so he can climb a ladder......when's the last time he's actually DONE the ropewalk? Been a while, hasn't it? Makes me wonder if he can even do it anymore.

Another thing to consider is that the Hardyz destroyed Taker a week or two ago when a ladder got involved. Of course, that was both Matt and Jeff.

I guess we'll see what happens but like you guys have said, all this build up would be kinda weird if Taker just smoked his butt again.

1. If by "a while" you mean a couple months, then yeah. But, I mean seriously, anybody who can walk can climb a damn step ladder. I'm sure he'll manage.

2. This isn't going to turn people off to ladder matches any more than Bossman turned people off to Hell in a Cells. And if Jeff is willing to kill himself like he used to, it might actually be worth watching.

3. I don't know where they can possibly go from here. Actually, judging by the Smackdown spoilers, I think I know what they'll do, and it probably won't lead to anything useful for Jeff Hardy. But the teenage girls who comprise most of his fan base don't seem to care that he never wins, so whatever. I can think of better ways for the WWE to spend the ten minutes this will take, but I can think of worse ways as well.

I have no doubt he can climb a ladder, but can he take the obligatory bumps off it? I sincerely doubt it.

By the way, if they didn't have "doubts about his personal life" or whatever, I'd have almost zero doubt Hardy was going over. Come on, Russo is back! And his job is to "come up with ideas"! That's a Russoesque idea!

Ah, but you forget my friend that Undertaker bumping off the ladder would require Jeff to get offence. I think they'll be fine.

What's going to happen? Jeff Hardy will show more offense than he ever has, come incredibly close to winning, actually have the audience convinced he might win for a few minutes, and then lose. Kinda like Undertaker's match against Randy Orton a few weeks ago.

It'll probably be pretty entertaining, too.

I agree with Bastard....kinda. It's not a foregone conclusion that this will either be a) a crappy hotshot title win for Jeff or b) a squash for the Undertaker.

It might actually be c) a longish match where yes, while the Undertaker comes out on top, in no way does it resemble a "squash." Or are we saying that any win by the Undertaker would be a squash?

Then again, it very well could be one of the first two possibilities, but I hope the WWE knows the fans would be turned OFF by a 4-minute ladder match.

I just don't see it simply because it's Jeff Hardy and the Undertaker. I mean if this were someone Taker hadn't already squashed twenty times already I might think it could be an even match. Now, even with the "home field advantage", I just can't picture him lasting in this match. It would be ridiculous if he did, like the mere presence of a ladder somehow alters Jeff's ability to do damage to someone who's up to now been essentially impervious to Hardy offense. The best I hope for is a brief flurry followed by a teased victory followed by a gruesome death.

Well, if Jeff Hardy wins then look for the Rock to win the title 8 days later.
But I doubt Jeff will win. A win further cheapens the WWE title. And a tape delayed world title switch is lame.

I am thinking that he will win. The UT interview about "doing what's best for the business" has to lead to something. I see Jeff holding on to the belt until Summerslam. Who else is going to lose to Brock at Summerslam?

Well, the only main-eventer who doesn't seem to mind jobbing when called on is The Rock. So unless the Wheeeeee is taking a calculated(?) risk by having Jeff Hardy be the flag bearer for two months, I think it will be Rock/Brock for Summerslam, with Rock doing the job so he can start on his next movie.

I see Jeff actually winning the title on RAW, and dropping it to someone (Either Angle or Jericho) on Smackdown.

Scary fact of the day, though: if Jeff wins this, he's one European Championship reign away from joining Jericho as having held every Men's division belt in the company. He's won numerous tag championships, beat HHH for the IC title last year, held the Light-Heavyweight title for a while, was Hardcore champ a few times... only two more left for him to complete the circuit.

To let Jeff Hardy win the world title would be meaningless and in my opinion, stupid.

Say what you want about Taker, but when he comes out, he gets a reaction. Listen to the crowd when Jeff Hardy comes out -- about a thousand teenage girls....and thats it.

IF Jeff does win listen hard because he will probably get booed out of the building.
