(Nice job, by the way, WWE, not advertising a match that people may have actually wanted to see.)
I second that. If I would have known about that match beforehand, I would have bought the show. Shame, WWE.

Will this move put any of you over the fence one way or the other when deciding against buying a PPV on the apparent strength of the card?

If anyone in the future buys a PPV "just in case" he misses something like this, it may have been an effective move.

The question is, are there more potential future "Just in case" buys to be had than current "would have bought if I knew about it" buys?

I think the bigger is this that they're moving from the 180-220k wasteland of October through December into the promised land of January through April. PPV buys are going to be high in first quarter 2007 anyways, but fourth quarter 2006 probably could've used the boost.

That's it exactly. After this ladder match, I think I've heard from a dozen people who were on the fence about ordering the show and didn't do it, and who would have ordered it had they known about the match. I haven't heard of any of those people buying the replay, or planning to buy future events "just in case."

If they're not buying the replay to see this seemingly awesome match (sorry for the sarcasm), then I would assume that they're just whining for the sake of whining. I'll bet, then, that it doesn't change buying habits in the least.

There is some value to watching something live, rather than two days later when you've already heard it broken down. If people were just interested in seeing great matches, there would be no need for new PPVs.
