I've got some questions for all of the WWE fans that live outside of the US.
When are RAW and SD shown for you? Is the full show shown, or just a recap. My German friend told me that RAW was shown on THURS and SD on FRI(although it was only 1 hour long).
I'm just confused, they always talk about how many countries are tuned into the PPVs, but are all those fans privy to all the recent storylines? Do they dub over the announcers for non english speaking countries?

I realize I won't get all the answers I am looking for since 99% of us are from the US, Canada and the UK, but any information is helpful.

I don't know how helpful this is, but in the early 90's (1991-1993) I lived in Rome, Italy. They showed one hour of WWF shows every Monday through Friday (don't remember what the exact line-up is, but I remember coming home every day just in time for WWF). They then showed a one-hour show on late Saturday night and replayed it Sunday morning. And, yes, the commentary was over-dubbed by some Italian guy.

I wish I remembered more details, but I have a horrible memory, so this is about all I remember. Sorry.

Currently RAW 120mins Friday
Smackdown 90mins Saturday.

Used to be Raw on Tuesday nights but no Smackdown at all

I think RAW is available on a satellite channel in Japan, and I know the PPVs are. Smackdown started sometime in the spring of this year, and came on at 2 AM Wednesday, and was about 2 weeks behind the US. It was also edited.

Raw and Smackdown are shown completly in Japan, sometimes without strong language censored. However we are 3 weeks behind. As they just showed SurSer this past Sunday.

Canada, same as in the USA, RAW on TSN and Smackdown on The Score.

I was in South Africa for a month earlier this year and they had an edited version of both shows scattered through the week, running about three weeks later than North America. They also showed No Way Out in its entirety on one of the basic channels, a few weeks after it happened.

That sucks that they put the shows on Friday and Saturday nights. Not a very smart choice. People aren't going to be home on those nights. Sure, some will tape it, but a lot won't bother.

In Finland both Raw and Smackdown on Sunday (starts with RAW 10:30 pm. and then Smackdown.) Both shows are about 50 min. or something. And also here we're 3 weeks behind so that kind of ruins everything. But thank god they don't dub the commentary, I would never watch it if they did.

And I'm almost sure we can't see the PPV's in Finland. At least it's not free.

Well, Raw and Smackdown are shown here in chile, The programs starts at 7 pm on saturdays. First RAW and then Smackdown. Both shows are about an hour, they keep the original audio but the commentators translates all the stuff. The shows are about and hour each because they cut almost all backstage stoyline.

Now the shows are in CHV channel, with a 3 weeks delay. the worst part is they dont show the PPV, maybe the rights are expensive (is a small channel). About 2 years ago, RED channel emited the shows and the ppv but with an outraegous delay of 5 Months!!!!. even if we dont have the ppv is better this way

Err..why won't they bother taping it?
I know I do..well the guy I know that can get Sky and gives me the tape every week on monday..

As for PPVs, since we (UK) are always up to date, the PPVs are live. usually arounhd 1 or 2am that means.
So..more taping!

*sigh* Why bother?

one thing is for sure, the people that keep wrestling alive in latin america are Carlos Cabrera and Hugo Savinovich, these ringside anouncers turn even the most borring match (you know, lance storm-like matchs) into a festival

I've always wondered what kind of announcers Hugo and Carlos were. I wonder if one plays the heel whilst the other stays straight (a la Monsoon/Heenan) or one plays the straight laced announcer and the other plays a horny middle aged pervert... Anyone have any insight here?

hugo is like the King( hes also an ex-wrestler), always with those crazy catch phrases,he make fun of everyone, from his sound asistant to any wrestler in the ring.. "oh heres come the little bugger, spike dudly, he doesnt have biceps he has 2 big mosquito bites in his little boy arms", hes a very religious man and always talk about his wife and mother-in-law:" Wow wath a big chop from mark henry, its like mi mother in law when i got home with a little extra drinks".

Carlos cabrera is the cool "compadre", he doesnt know as much as hugo about wrestling wove but he got cool name for the moves: Low blow: patada a la filomena, Dudleys WAZZZUUUPP: QUE ONDA VAAAATOOOOO, Batista powerbomb: el bombazo del tigre. a near fall: "jericho se arma una casa y le quire poner de numero el 1-2-3

they are both faces, hot blooded, wowen-lovers, latino cool guys
