It looks like some of the names of the 2009 Hall of Fame inductess have been announced, and it's a pretty good list to me:
Steve Austin, Ricky Steamboat, Terry and Dory Funk, Bill Watts and the Von Erich Family.
I personally would like to see Big Van Vader, Stan Hansen and Abdullah the Butcher in there, but maybe next year (maybe this year too, there is still room!).| Promote this thread! | | DJ FrostyFreeze

That's a pretty good list so far, but why did they announce their biggest name (Austin) first this year?

Jim Ross is a mortal lock to induct Austin.

Actually, from everything I've read, he's inducting Watts.

I was thinking Dennis Stamp of "Beyond the Mat" fame. He's probably still jumping up and down on his trampoline, waiting to be booked for Wrestlemania.

They held a pre-sale for Hall of Fame tickets and they didn't sell well, so they announced Austin and then held a second pre-sale. I believe they nearly sold out.
As for the list of Hall of Famers, that was in today's Figure Four Weekly but I don't think any of it should be considered official until it gets announced on TV.

In fact, a list like this is almost guaranteed to have a few changes in it once WWE sees the list. :)

I heard Hayes was inducting the Von Erich family. As it stands I am more pysched for the Hall of Fame then Wrestlemania. | Big Bad

I kind of figured he'd get in to further the Legacy angle of 'sons of Hall-of-Famers,' and since Dibiase is a lock to be inducted sooner or later, it might as well be now.

And, though the back few years of his career were nothing to write home about, Barry Windham has a stronger argument for induction than some who have entered the Hall of Fame in the past. |
