The WWA PPV is coming right here to Melbourne, Australia (thumbs up, cheap pop!) at April 13th.

I want your advice. Should I go? I dunno? The last PPV was reported to be bad. I'm dying to watch wrestling since I'm not watching the WWF, and besides, I've never been to a live show before.

They've got some wrestlers I like: Jedoublef Jadoubleredoublet, Eddie Guerrerro (I was sad when WWF cutted him), Jerry Lynn and Steiner (if he doesn't sign with the fed). But dreadful ones like Kronic and Buff.

I would like to go to give the WWA a chance (b/c the WWF needs competition), but am worried that the PPV will turn out to be bad like the last one. Also, the ticket prices look expensive. The cheapest ticket at the moment is $80AUS. Is that expensive for a PPV?

Thanks

Don't go expecting Bret Hart. In case you hadn't heard, he just got replaced as commissioner by Sycho Sid. There's a smart move for the company...Sid in a speaking-only role.

Oh, and $80AUS...that's, what, a nickel American?

I'm not expecting bret. he wasn't on my mind when thinking of attending.

$80AUS is about $41.82US (checked the Currency Converter on the web!)

If you can get good seats, have never been to a live event, and aren't watching WWF, then why not go? The ticket price seems a little high (WWF cheap seats are 50...but this ain't the WWF). The last PPV wasn't great, but it wasn't flat-out awful, there were a couple of good matches and hopefully they won't put themselves in such a bad booking position this time. If I were you, I'd wait until August when the WWF is (allegedly) coming down there, but that's just me. Meltzer said something about an August 10th PPV down there, but that's assuming they split...and you don't watch WWF, so I'm kind of rambling anyway. In conclusion, it's probably worth it, but I don't want any mail bombs if it sucks.

And I think you're fat. So how do you like me now?

Eh, $42 bucks would be worth it if it were the WWF, but for what is essentially a glorified Indy fed...I don't know...

I realize that you guys are also pretty starved for live shows down there too though.

Just weigh it in your mind. How much do you REALLY want to see Jeff Jarrett or Road Dogg or Brian Christopher or some other WWF reject. If the answer is "not $80 worth" then don't go. If you really miss those guys or just REALLY NEED some live wrestling now now now, then I'd say go.

It's your money you're ponying up. I wouldn't pay to see it, but I didn't like most of the guys the first time through anyway. Your mileage may vary.

I'd say go, unless you're kind of short for cash, since the WWF is supposedly planning an Aussie tour in late 2002. You'd hate to spend your money on WWA, and then be broke for the WWF.

There, I feel better now.

I've been finding it hard to get interested in the WWA since it seems they don't have a television deal yet. Even with Jerry Lynn vs. Eddy Guererro (sp?). Give me some build-up and a reason to care about guys I've never seen before before asking me to shell out the cash.

One of these days I'll come up with a sig that does not suck.
