FINALLY, GLORY TAKES ON TONI THE TOP! FINALLY, THIS SEASON COMES TO AN END! FINALLY, I SAT DOWN AND RECORDED A VIMEO!
Start the one on top, then hit pause when it looks like it's started loading, then start ME, then start/pause the one on the bottom so IT can load while you watch that first bit up there - and no, there's practically NO WRESTLING AT ALL in the first half of this show, but rest assured there's some simply *delightful* comedy sketches. Also, apparently, there'll be a DVD release of this season because they preview some "bonus features" (which make you wonder just HOW they ended up with more footage than they neeeded, given how threadbare a lot of these shows seemed...)
The really sad part is, when you check the viewer stats over at the 'tube, the second part - the part with the actual alleged wrestling competition - has only about 60% of the viewers of the FIRST part. Draw your own conclusions.
Also, they really should have checked their A/B stereo before putting out this version with the wrong audio. But I (repeatedly!) digress.
I actually felt bad, watching CRZ's face during that.
Sister Ophelia was Rosie Lottalove in TNA for about a week. So that whole WWE/TNA reminded us that they have several wrestlers who had a cup of coffee in one of the Big Two, a non-wrestler in Cookie, plus Madison Rayne, who is the Knockout champ. My favorite thing about that sketch, though, was the Paige Webb bit. Would anyone look at that outfit and have any clue that is/was Serena?
(Sadly, they didn't mention that their top heel, Toni the Top, has now been swiped by NWA Hollywood.)
As for the main event, someone who is willing to watch that disaster again - I've seen it twice now - should count how many times they have to switch camera angles because Glory has fallen out of her top and has to put herself back in. As a SHIMMER fan, I just kept thinking "Daizee Haze and Portia Perez are at ringside. Couldn't we just have them wrestle instead?"
On the other hand, if they hadn't shown that match, we would have never seen The Incredible Botched Rope Spot.
Somebody from Wrestlicious sent me an email thanking me for the reviews which - and I'm using his words here - "we enjoyed." I suspect they're being overly generous with their assessment.
Although he's asked me to keep his email off the record, he did say I could pass along a few bits of info, which I'm paraphrasing using my best "broadcast reporter" style.
The thing with BiteTV was they revamped their entire schedule and took ALL the wrestling off - which means Wrestlicious and I think they had some Memphis or St. Louis classic wrestling or something along those lines. I personally couldn't care less about whether or not some Canadian station aired Wrestlicious or not, but they WERE the source of the online copies at the time, which is why I made a big deal out of it. Obviously, Wrestlicious is not having problems making their episodes available online while NOT being on BiteTV, so this isn't as big a deal as I may have ever made it out to be. (And to be honest, I don't remember making THAT big a deal out of it - but I may have said something during one of the Vimeos that I'm not recalling)
They ARE still airing on MavTV (does anybody not on a dish actually get this channel?) and expect that by the time season 2 rolls around - and oh yes, there WILL be a season 2 - they will be able to announce a bigger and better network as well. No estimated time on Season 2 was offered, nor were any locations mentioned - I will guess they've learned their lesson with the First Ave. lighting, however. :)
Now I'm pretty sure of it, Glory worked that last match defiantly preggo. I have a whole new level of appreciation for that woman now. I'm tempted to drop her a line to ask her directly & see if I can find out exactly but, if her blog is any indication, if that match took place in place anywhere after June of 2009 it was a high possibility as for the whole season.

I don't know her personally like you do, but I DO know that the match in question was taped on May 28. A quick consultation of the Internet reveals that Glory's daughter was born February 20. So what I'm saying is I'm much, much cooler than you.
I have to imagine that the next big surprise would be Rock again next month, or Austin though that's hardly a "surprise" is it? The only other person I can think of is Nash back in his "non-wrestling role.
