Didn't Owen become "the Black Hart" after interupting a Vince promo that night after the '97 Survivor Series?

Are you legally allowed to have the thread go this far without mentioning Mick Foley?

Glacier sold all of his "Glacier" paraphernalia to somebody on Thunder. Although I can't for the life of me remember who it was. Whoever it was came out like once or twice to the full glacier laser and snow fall routine.

The original Glacier (Ray Lloyd maybe?) then came back as a high school gym teacher or somesuch.

As said before, this really wasn't an attempt at a heel turn. Hogan had adopted somewhat of a "badass" persona in an attempt to bring out the "dark side" of Hulkamania (sort of a precursor to Stone Cold Steve Austin) He was fueding with the Giant at the time, and the Dungeon of Doom kept throwing all sorts of goons his way (such as the Yeti) that seemed to be here one day and gone the next. At the end of the angle, him and Sting started a bonfire setting a steel keg ablaze, and dumped all of the black paraphernalia in with it (including aforementioned wrestling observer) which as somebody else already pointed out, showed you how truly wacked the man was

An interesting prequel to that (and a change of gimmick onscreen, sort of) was when Billy Gunn lost the right to be called Mr. Ass (when he was defeated by the Right To Censor)...he changed his name to Billy G, then eventually, "The 1" Billy Gunn.

And of course, he became "Billy" in the Billy and Chuck duo.

The SOK has seen the following cinematic masterpieces so far this year:

Eurotrip; Scooby Doo 2; Shrek 2; The Ladykillers; Spider-Man 2; Anchorman.

Best: Spider-Man 2; Worst: Ladykillers.

God, that was stupid. I can still hear Michael Cole shreaking "But what are we gonna call Mr. Ass now!?!?!?"

Me: Um. How about "BILLY GUNN!"

Cole: Well, here's Billy G...

Me: And he's slightly more gay than Kenny G.

And little did I know, his gay turn started right there.

You know, he's back to being Mr. Ass (in music) but we've never really found out if it's womens' ...or mens... asses he's obsessed about. :-)

I suddenly feel dirty for using Billy on my Smackdown games...LOL!

How is it that no one has mentioned the BEST gimmick/name change ever--the only one I recall coming complete with a revamped theme song (the old version played at the beginning of the promo, and the new version was hit at the end):

P-A-T-T-I, P-A-T-T-I, PATTI *PIZZAZZ*, PATTI *PIZZAZZ*
P-A-T-T-I, P-A-T-T-I, PATTI *PIZZAZZ*, PATTI *PIZZAZZ*

Seriously, one of the few times that a David McLane show turned up an actual example of good wrestling booking.

A: Rocky Miavia turned heel and joined The Nation, gradually becoming more and more arrogant and finally calling himself The Rock.

Just to expand on it, his full-fledged "moment of turn" was on a Raw broadcast when he came out of the crowd to interfere in a match between DOA Chainz and someone (NOD member maybe?). JR said something like "there's Rocky Maivia, good to see The Rock back..." before feigning shock because Maivia hit Chainz with the Rock Bottom instead of the NOD member.

Great that you remembered Glacier's selling his stuff to Kaz, but let's not forget that he came back at the very end of WCW, as a superhero type charachter. This was before Hurricane had did it and Nova had given up being a superhero so Ray pulled it off pretty well. I've worked with him some and he said that WCW originally wanted him to come in as Lance Storms brother but he had just bought new Glacier stuff. So he went to the offices, one of the writers suggested the new character, played the music, he popped out of the closet (insert joke here) and did one of the crazy Glacier promos. After that he didnt even change, left the offices in his gimmick and drove off.

When I leave this world, I want to go the same way I came in, naked, covered in goo, and screaming in fear!
