So wait, they cut ALL these guys yet the SIGN Big Vito??

credit:PWInsider.com

World Wrestling Entertainment has signed former WCW Hardcore champion Big Vito to a deal and he'll be debuting this Monday at the Smackdown house show in Portland, Maine. The belief is that Vito will be put with Nunzio as a tag team.

Vito, who worked enhancement for WWF when he was first breaking in under his original ring name Skull Von Krush, had a brief run in Extreme Championship Wrestling as one of the Baldies. He was brought into WCW as one of the Mamalukes by longtime friend Vince Russo. He also had a brief run in TNA, feuding with Irish Pat Kenney.

Vito, a Staten Island, New York native, was originally trained by Johnny Rodz.

She's an independent contractor. I'd bet the WWE is seeing her pregnancy as something analogous to an injury.

Could WWE letting Spike go have anything to do with maybe why they also let the Dudleys go?

Like maybe when they let Spike go Bubba and D-Von decide not to renew or maybe it way to maybe put pressure on the Duds to sign, like hey we let Spike go maybe it could be you? Or hell, maybe it has nothing to do with each other.

The fact they didn't draft Haas to RAW and set up a HAAS/BENJAMIN angle is the biggest missed opportunity. Getting rid of talent like Haas, Akio and Moore, Jackie Gayda who IMO is hotter than any of the Diva chicks they have going now and was getting better as a wrestler, and ignoring the cruiser and tag titles makes me believe they should drop the middle W from WWE, Cause they sure don't seem to give a fuck about "wrestling".

This is no slight on you, but that opinion is either riduclous or uninformed.

I'm guessing the second, as most people skip Velocity.
Good call on me not watching Velocity.

Definitely Rosey, who is a lucky, lucky man, but Hurricane sells merchandise and thus isn't going anywhere.

These releases are getting perplexing. I've never thought TNA had a chance to do anything talentwise, but I second the guy who said this is TNA's wet dream. This is the first time they've ever had a chance to pick up a substantial number of quality talent -- though I bet they'll just sign the guys who had it coming anyway. And it's all useless with no TV deal.

As for Val and Stevie: It's been clear to me for a while that someone over at the E really likes both of them, just not enough to push them. Maybe they're really great guys. I dunno.

I wonder if all these cuts are just to pay Lesnar's salary.

Or...Matt Hardy's? Or CM Punk's? Or Frankie Kazarian's?

I'm seeing, so far, as these cuts being guys who aren't doing anything or are too stale to be useful.

Well, at least there will be someone besides Billy Gunn or Matt Hardy on all of the internet wrestling radio shows.

I wouldn't be shocked to see Big Show gone.

Big Show has a contract through 2009, I believe, so he's not going anywhere.

For the most part, this all makes sense. They've added quite a few new people lately, and are still looking at more. Add Brock to the mix and suddenly they need to make cuts somewhere.

The Dudleyz are the only ones of the bunch that really, REALLY surprise me (and I include Spike in that). Sure, I was disappointed by a couple so far (though not many), but I figured the three Dudleyz were pretty secure. Wow.

My opinion: Get rid of Heidenreich, Kenzo Suzuki, Hiroko, Scotty Too Hotty and few of the '04 Divas and they'll be back to a nice, manageable roster with decent TV time for everyone...

Now, this is really gonna hurt the hous shows, because most of these guys wrestled on the house shows when the bigger names didnt. Its either gonna be filled with OVW type guys in squash matches or just have less matches with the bigger names filling out most of the card.

And, here's my list of people I want gone instead of most of the list they already cut:

Bob Holly
Tomko
Val Venis
Chris Masters
Jerry Lawler
Big Show
Orlando Jordan

If I were a wrester without a title or named Triple H or UT, I wouldnt answer my cell phone any time soon...

X-E's co-Worst Poster of all time! JKyle.com says:

As far as speculation goes I'd say the moment OJ drops the strap he's done for.

Holly in a perfect world.

Being "traded" is apparently the new kiss of death.

They better leave Tomko alone dammit!

Haas... Haas...

This is the worst Christmas ever.

P.S. If they cut Tajiri I will tear out all my hair.

Bob Holly, Scotty 2 Hotty, and Big Show are all over with the crowd and get reactions. So sadly, I don't expect Holly to go anywhere. Same goes for Heidenreich. As hated as he is on the net, casual wrestling fans don't seem to mind the guy. He gets a reaction, and that appears to be the requirement for keeping one's job right now.

I hope Orlando Jordan goes nowhere, because he's got some serious potential. And he's improved drastically over the past six months, prior to which I had no interest or reason to like the guy. At the last house show in my area, he got some of the biggest heat and plenty of "buckwheat" chants. Better yet, he's actually really natural on the mic - something we haven't seen much of on TV so far.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the following added to the list:

-William Regal
-Sylvain Grenier (this has been waiting to happen for so long...)
-Doug Basham
-Robert Conway
-Eugene (although he does get crowd reactions)
-Stevie Richards
-Simon Dean / Super Nova
-Victoria

We got to see it in Canada, actually, and not just because The Score isn't usually as quick with the censorship as TSN was. The CRTC rules clamp down on male on female violence, but only outside the context of athletic competition.
