Okay, last month we've seen the Smackdown GM wrestle in a... "Catfight" with a possibility of a rematch, and now at Summerslam, we'll see the Raw GM wrestle Shane McMahon. Is it just me or is it really a pain in the ass to have to see these non wrestling General Managers in big PPV matches with the talent pool the WWE has?

Stephanie's match with Sable sure as hell wasn't the 2001 classic with Trish Stratus. That one had way more going for it, and was more...I can't believe I'm saying this... believable? Thanks to A-Train, a rematch is in the offing I believe. Goody.

Eric Bischoff wrestled Stone Cold at NWO, and that was a big squash, then at Bad Blood during that triathlon, he got stunned and beat up again. Now he's going up against Shane McMahon.

The point is, I appreciate the idea of General Managers for the shows, but having them in matches on PPV is just unnecessary. Nobody pays 35 bucks to see either Steph or Eric wrestle (if some of you do, more power to you). What do you think?

Well except for her very sore throat Steffo has been a good GM for Smackdown. The Vengence PPV was better than I thought and matches on SD have been better than RAW. I would like to see Steffo wrestle more often however maybe get a good woman division for the SD brand.

No no no. SD does not need a women's division. On Raw it is OK, because their roster isn't as deep as SD's. SD has too much talent sitting around doing nothing to be concerned with starting up a women's division. *Especially* if it means Steph would be participating.

If it was a once-in-a-while bonus attraction (even at a PPV), I'd have no problem with it. For example, Austin's return match against Bischoff. That was harmless enough, and helped build up his comeback quite nicely. However, did we need to see:
- A singles match against JR a few weeks before it.
- Not one, but two tag matches involving JR and Lawler
- A SECOND match between Austin and Bischoff (and don't get me started on The Redneck Triathalon).
- Bischoff against Shane in a streetfight.
- Bischoff against Kane this week.

... and I'm probably missing a few at that. It is overkill, simple as that. Bischoff is a great character and the perfect foil for Austin, but I don't want to see the guy wrestle every week... and THEN get put in on a pay-per-view card where guys like Christian, Booker, Eddy Guerrero and others I really WANT to see are shut out.

I was genuinely surprised by the match between Sable and Steph, actually. It did what it needed to do, and I think Sable underestimated. She worked like quite the heel and got people behind the far less attractive and not to mention fat Steph McManiac. And in this era of entertainment, women are supposed to be sticks, you know? So that was no small task.

That said, no one would order the PPV for a match like that, nor am I arguing such. However, being that most of SD's talent on Vengeance was already booked, Brock, Angle, Show, Rey, Kidman, WGTT, Eddy, Benoit, and so on, there was no one marketable left that would have sold more PPVs if added to the lineup than Steph/Sable did. Maybe Matt Hardy, but it's not like he's so strong that you can put him with just anybody and expect it to boost numbers. So in that case I had no problem with it.

However, with the brand-splitting concept there's barely space for anyone on a joint PPV, so on joint PPVs I think it's insane to put Shane and Bisch in a match. Save that kind of crap for RAW-only PPVs and throwaway RAWs. Or better yet, why not go on the road with that match? Oh, my bad. Shane only works one match and then takes nine months off while every dumbass who watched says he's "cool".

But Stephanie McMahon is a HUGE superstar and the future of the business. I mean she was put in the same class as Kurt Angle and Brock Lesnar in that Vengeance opening.

The McMahon's greatly overestimate their importance as performers and it shows in the advertising and booking of the shows. In my book, Vince is the only one that's ever been worth a damn as a performer but even he gets stale after a few months.

We've got Vince, Shane, Stephanie, Bischoff, Austin, and Sable, all non-wrestlers taking up tremendous amounts of TV time. Occasionally they'll hit a house show to cut a promo but those shows don't do any better then normal.

Austin/Bischoff was fun for awhile but it's time for one of them to take a few months off. Shane should go back to "running" the Internet Division. Vince should hand over Lesnar to Heyman when Heyman's cleared and get off TV until he feels the need to put himself in the Main Event of WrestleMania. Stephanie should go back to that minor mediator GM role she was doing. And Sable should just manage somebody or do older woman/younger man angle instead of the Mom & Grandpa angle.

I'd just like to see the crack Creative Staff try to book one month of shows without an on-screen authority figure.

I'm surprised that you guys are starting a debate about how good Sable and Steph's match was. I won't get too deep into that. I saw the Trish match again a couple days ago. I stand by my belief that the Sable version didn't match up to that at all. Times are different now, and fans' tastes have evolved too, as you guys know. The first match allowed Trish Stratus to begin her long road to become the more than credible flagbearer of the women's division on Raw. So actually, the repercussions of that match are actually deeper.

Sable wins her match with Steph, and that leads to a rematch, which will lead to...? Anyway, my opinion.

Testify my Mistress

Taking up a spot on a mixed PPV with Bischoff pisses me off. There just so few spots to go around per show this is a total waste.

I didn't mind as much on a brand only PPV, even though I would rather have another mid-carder getting some legit PPV time instead of GM's. But GM's are a big part of the weekly show and for them to be part of the brand-only 3 hour PPV I could live with. But for Summerslam let the wrestlers get the spotlight

I'll pay to watch Steffo roll around on the mat. The same can't be said for Stone Cold or Bisch.

I thought he had potential in ECW. He had nice speed and selling for a big guy, and he put "oomph" in the moves. It's a shame really.
