No really, it seems a disease is spreading in the WoW community. This is awesome:

A strict constructionist interprets the Constitution according to the language and original intent of the text at the time of its writing, in much the same way as a fundamentalist views the Bible. Fortunately, for strict constructionists, they have been endowed by God with the superhuman gift of being able to read the minds of people who died 200 years ago. Naturally, they use this power only for good -

Yes, I logged in my alt on Saturday morning, walked into town (Ironforge) and was dead in two seconds. How lovely. Blizzard devs are a bunch of sick bastards.

I wouldn't blame the Blizzard devs for intentionally letting this happen. It sounds like they wanted to keep the 'disease' within Zul'Gurub, and a few determined players were able to get it out via an exploit. I expect Blizzard will take care of this as soon as they can. Injury prevention 4. Self-discipline 5. Sex (Trust me, you'll have a better shot with the ladies if you're in shape.)" -- Making the Game, pp. 14 - 15

See, I think this could be an awesome thing to do on purpose. Enter a town and find out a plague has hit it. You also find out the town has been quarantined and troops are coming to kill everyone so the plague doesn't spread. You either have to have healers sneak their way in and heal people or people sneak out of the town to go get help.

There needs to be more worldwide effects like this, to bring more unity and surprises to the whole game.

You overestimate the WoW community. These things don't build unity, you just give assholes a tool to go out there and grief people. In your scenario, people would just help the troops slaughter the town and loot everything in it.
