I guess it can't be something so simple as 18,181 people in that county walking into the booth and going "republican, republican, republican. Boom. I'm done, c'ya"

Come on, OFB... you are reaching really far on this one... and I really can't think of another such coincidence. And if there IS something fishy about this, it is far less suspicious than the sequentially numbered absentee ballots sumbmitted by the Democratic Party....

| #8 Posted on 14.11.02 1553.25 | My favorite Democratic statement of the week is how they are going to push for more Democratic voter turnout next election, so that it will be more "legitimate." Nothing like completely avoiding the REASON they lost this time! And I NEVER said that the only eligible voters are Republican, but there is an awful lot of fishy stuff going on on the Democrat side... how do you explain dead people voting, busses of people going to vote Democrat in states with same-day voter registration, and absentee ballot shenanigans?

But, hey, O'Brien lost, so that's ok.
The Dems were also under investigation in South Dakota weeks before the election, as the names of several dead American Indians were turning up on absentee ballots. Interesting that Jon Thune held the lead in SD until the final three districts rolled in, which, coincidentally, contained the aforemtioned reservations.

Do you mean statistically impossible, or statistically improbable? To me, it's right up there with 911 being the PICK3 winning number in New York on 09/11/02. Just because the odds of something happening defy comprehension, doesn't mean it ain't so.

Because of COURSE, a team with no primadonnas, with faith in their system and their coach, with an offensive scheme designed to benefit the strengths of the QB and downplaying his weaknesses, a defenses that gives up yards but not touchdowns, due to their style of pass coverage and blitz schemes, and that played every game like there was nothing to lose naturally couldn't have won the Super Bowl. A team that put teamwork and great coaching above indivual barely literate showboat thugs winning it all? DEAR GOD, MUST BE FIXED.

Jeebus, folks, I'm a Pittsburgher, you saw what happened to Tommy Maddox (and our Super Bowl hopes) this afternoon, please LET ME CLING TO SOMETHING!
(But, yeah, a team no one expected to win anything going over the three favorites to win in a row that just happens to be called the Patriots... Well, seems fishy, at the very least.)

So with that logic, the Angels were chosen by the CIA and MLB to win the World Series to bolster Christian faith. Will the Packers win the Super Bowl this year to promote tolerance with homosexuals?

| #19 Posted on 18.11.02 1743.22 | Sorry OFB... you can't have this one. If you think about the hundreds (if not thousands? I am not sure) of races throughout the country... this is a really big stretch to say that is is statistically impossible, therefore there is voter fraud. That is highly circumstantial. Now give me some HARD evidence, like proof that dead people voted or suspiciously numbered ballots or a bus caravan of Republican's going from state to state, and I will take it a little more seriously... Think about it.. those races have the EXACT same number of votes. Now that is damned hard to fix. You would have to either a) throw out all Republican votes and insert your own, or B) Wait until the return came in, and then inserted the appropriate number of votes to make up the number. The fact is that if you are going to stuff the ballot, it is much easier to just add a bunch without that kind of counting. Even if they added the exact same number of votes to each race, the real people voting would throw that number off. Occam's Razor would say that is is a mere coincidence. The amount of WORK it would tkae to balance the numbers like that could not be done in one night...
