I'm just curious...how high would you guys pay for WrestleMania ringside seats, if you had the chance to buy them? Where would you draw the line? I don't remember what the face value was for ringsides (something like US$500?). How much of a markup would you be willing to spend? Would you pay the same price for 2nd row seats, as opposed to front row, or do you feel 2nd row is just as good?

Thanks in advance.

They tickets are $600 Canadian and unless you bought a block of them they're gone.

I have an 8th row ticket and that was the last of the 'ringside' price range. So unless Ticketmaster blocked a whole bunch of tickets or people returned them, or like I said at first you have a block of tickets. I hope you're planning for WM XIX.

All I'm wondering is how much would you pay for 1st or 2nd row ringside. How much cash would you shell out if you had the chance? What is your limit? I'm just gathering input.

I'd probably just pay the full 600 no higher...that is a little steep to begin with....and acutally the only reason I got the ticket is cause someone else bought it for me.

As someone who's sat second row at a PPV (Starrcade 2000), I can tell you that it's really night and day from ringside (although I've never been ringside). One you leave ringside, all the floor seats are pretty much alike (I also had something like 10th row seats once, and it was the damn same).

In addition to rows, look for seats next to the entrance ramp, and also ones that aren't in the production corner. The cameramen will be in your way a bunch of the time (and you'll never get your signs on TV!)

I paid $100 for the Starrcade ticket, which in retrospect I would have paid for a ringside seat, but not for what I got. For Wrestlemania? I don't know, I guess it really depends on how much dough you make. I personally would probably use a week's paycheck (after taxes) on a really good ringside Wrestlemania seat.

Well, considering that I work for the WWF's Canadian sponsor (Famous Players), I can apparantly get cheap tickets to RAW, Smackdown, house shows and EVEN WrestleMania!!! ('cept then the tix would still be 500 bucks)...but too little too late, I guess.

Thanks for the input guys.

Moe, that sounds like a pretty good rule of thumb.

Not to be overly critical (oops), but seeing a thread about being super-thrifty when buying groceries on one part of the board, and then reading this thread about spending several hundreds of dollars on a WM ticket... makes me scratch my head.

And then I remember that instead of complaining, I should be CELEBRATING the board's DIVERSITY~! HUZZAH!

As someone who's sat second row at a PPV (Starrcade 2000)

You LUCKY BASTARD!!!!!

Anyway, as for Wrestlemania, I'm looking to pay in the area of $100 because I'm a cheap bastard and NOTHING is worth $600 for 3 hours. (Until of course, I get paid more than $12 an hour...)

I'd say it depends how much spending money YOU want to put down for the show. No one else can determine your spending habits.

Someone paid $100 for Starrcade 2000 seats?

I mean, sure they were ringside, but the card was like nothing. I bet if you'd have just waited until the day of and showed up at the arena, you probably could've gotten comped into the lower row of seats.

Oh, to add to the thread: I paid $50 a piece for two WMXV tickets, and that was for the absolute worst seats in the house (the very last row on the far end of the arena). But, was still a damn good time. I mean, when I think about going to a wrestling show like a major PPV, I just want to be a part of it. So I wouldn't spend a lot for the "best" seats anyway. Just get whatever seats I could and enjoy the atmosphere.

Considering I bought the seat about a week in advance, you're probably right.

The card was OK. Their was a 6 man cruiserweight triple ladder match that was great (and being that close was definitely a bonus). Also seeing Goldberg's entrance live about 30 feet away was pretty cool.

I actually recommend springing for expensive seats at house shows and PPV's, while getting the cheapies for Raw and SmackDown. The actual wrestling is really cool if you're up close, but the main reason to see RAW and SmackDown live (IMO) is to just be part of the crowd, and that's the same no matter where you sit.

I know. Which is why you're likely to never see me in the front row at a PPV.

I paid around 60 for front row, right at the entrance aisle seats when ECW came to town in 1999.

A card would have to be really, really good for me to pay much higher than that. I'm not much into seeing it in-person (I've only seen two cards live).

I paid for two tickets to SD tapings. One on the floor "sold as ring side, it was 9th row," for $40+, the other for $30+ up in the tier. The floor seats sucked. everyone was standing on chairs and holding up signs and generally being jackasses. I watched Heat tapings from the tier and saw everything. My 12 year old sat in the ringside seats but insisted on trading places for actual SD because he couldn't see anything on the floor.

I guess I'm a tightwad. The most I've ever paid for a ticket is $100 for the Oklahoma/Oklahoma State game in 1998, but to me, that's more special than a WrestleMania (especially since OSU won ).

I wouldn't spend more than $100 on a 'Mania ticket, especially since it will NEVER take place in OKC and I'd have to pay a lot of travel expenses on top of that.

There's a bit more than money that goes into getting a ringside seat as well, mind you. Timing is also of the essence.

If you aren't the absolute first person there to buy the tickets (in person, online takes too long), you'll be in the nosebleeds.

I wouldn't pay more than the actual value of the tickets.
I have good floor seats for WMx8 which is good enough for me.
Last year I had seats at the back of the floor, right next to the ramp which was very cool indeed. The glassy look in Edge's eyes after TLC II was worth it

At a WWF (ppv-quality) show in germany i payed about 50$ to sit 2nd row, which was amazing.

Ringside sure has its charms alright, but if I cannot get that the 2nd best thing is good enough too, and usually alot cheaper.

Imagine this is some funny signature. Then I will imagine you compliment me on it.

Foley wasn't as great on the announcing tip as I thought he would be, but obviously a year from now I'd be singing a different tune. Taoss should be awesome friday nights though.
