I usually don't like topic like this because everyone opinion are different but this movie takes the cake and no one (and I mean no one)will disagree with me.

The worst movie ever made is Manos:Hand of Fate. Forget Battlefield Earth. Forget Ishtar. Even Plan 9 From Outer Space managed to be at least humorously inept. Manos is just pure pain. If you watch this without Mystery Science Theater 3000 commentary, you will DIE. I mean, you know it's bad when even Joel and the Bots have trouble finding things to say. And what the hell did those teenagers making out have to do with the lost family? I mean...arrgh...The only thing of redeeming value was Torgo's ridiculous four-note theme song. What other movie can claim it drove three of its "stars" to suicide?. This movie is pure celluloid torture.

WARNING: DO NOT SEE THIS WITHOUT JOEL AND THE BOTS! If you can sit through the un-MSTed version, I praise you.

Hal Warren will burn forever for this abomination.

I do not mind trashy B-movies. I find expensive films that are turned into big piles of crap more offensive. Therefore, the worst film I have ever seem is Lara Croft:Tomb Raider.

Eh, B-movies are fun when one's sitting there and just verbally raping it... hence the premise behind MST3K.

Regarding your vote for Manos, Hands of Fate as worst movie ever... the IMdB agrees with you to a point. Manos is currently ranked as the sixth-worst movie of all-time by that website. Incidentially, Manos has more votes counted for it than any other movie in the bottom 100-- most likely because of the exposure it was given by MST3K.

The current worst movie of all-time, according to IMdB, is the 2000 movie Backyard Dogs. But it is separated from Manos (and the 11th-worst movie, Zaat) by only a tenth of a point.

I've been fortunate; I've never seen a single movie in the bottom 100. Came very close to seeing Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie, though... I was the Power Rangers fan back in the day.

As for my vote for worst movie ever? I personally could not stand Dr. Strangelove (or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb). But I saw it when it was a kid, maybe it gets better as an adult. I wanted to throw a baseball at the guy who kept rambling about “precious bodily fluids”. Must have missed something, though... it seems that Strangelove is #11 on the all-time best list. So either I missed something, or there really are a lot of idiots in the world.

Highlander 2 and Zardoz get my vote.

What the hell, I'll give this a go.

See it again. There is a lot of Cold War humor and double ententres that you didn't get as a kid that you'll roar at now. It Dr. Strangelove is easily one of the five best movies ever made.

And I have seen the following films from the bottom 100.
27 Wild World of Batwoman, The (1966)
31 Uomo puma, L' (1980)
78 Riding with Death (1976)

But all three were the MST3K versions, thus wildly hilarious.

The four worst movies I have ever seen, thus, are the following

- Big Top Pee Wee
- Masters of the Universe
- Bounce
- Chocolat

"Time Bandits" was terrible.

"Drowning Mona" a few years back was truly an awful movie. It's the only one that I ever remember paying $15 ($7.50 for me & my fiance, not to mention popcorn, etc.), and walking out before it was even half way over.

I was subjected to "Scooby Doo" on my recent flight to San Diego but even that paled in comparison to the same movie I mentioned a few months ago when we did this thread - "Walk Like A Man" (1987) starring Howie Mandel

Well, I am lucky enough to have seen NONE of the bottom 100, although "Da Hip Hop Witch" is now #1 on my personal "Must See" list.

Worst movie ever:

"Robin Hood: Men in Tights"

This cannot be debated. I'm serious here. NO movie can come close to touching its egregious badness. The ONLY laugh during the movie was when someone said a bad joke (SHOCKING!), and I groaned and told my friend I had to go to the bathroom. We giggled at that, and nothing else.

RH: MIT is the standard to which all other movies are judged...none have yet crossed that line.

It's hard to believe that this is the same guy who did The Producers and Young Frankenstein.

OK...I'm done. Please continue (although, unless you agree, you are all wrong). :)

"Bounce" was horrible. Even my girlfriend wanted to walk out of that one. Stallone's movie "Driver" was even worse. Same with "The Fast and the Furious". It was one of the worst movies I saw since "Jaws 3-D".

Firstly, saying Dr. Strangelove's name in this thread is akin to cinematic heresy. Definitely watch it again, and I bet your opinion changes.

Robin Hood Men in Tights is the last very good/great Brooks film. You can argue that point, but you will simply not be correct. It's not "Spaceballs", but it still rocks.

As for the worst movie of all time..."Frailty"...the most offensive, repugnant, disgusting, intellectually damaging, poorly acted, badly written movie ever. This has no camp value, no shock value, no value except for that the dvd can be used as a fine drink coaster.

May all of you have a blessed solstice.

I don't think of "Robin Hood: Men in Tights" as a great Mel Brooks film, certainly not when compared to Young Frankenstein, Blazing Saddles, High Anxiety or The Producers, but it is pretty harmless and for that reason it could never be considered "worst of all time"

I think people need to reconsider just how bad 'Battlefield Earth" was, I mean this movie was not just bad, but it was expensive, ugly, near career destroying and a thinly disguised infomercial for Scientology. It gets my vote.

And Dr. Strangelove is one of the greats, Mike Myers wishes in his wildest dreams that he could be Peter Sellers.

In terms of "least bang for the buck" bad, Waterworld edges out Battlefield - Earth.

Actually I think because Kevin Costner followed "Waterworld" with "The Postman", he managed to make "Waterworld" seem not quite the disaster it really was. Plus technically Waterworld made a profit (when you add in international ticket sales).

Best movie so bad its good? "Showgirls", hands down.
